I've spent my whole live practicing and playing cello and I can assure it's one of the most marvelous things one can do. Even if you struggle! I can teach either beginners or amateurs who want to get better at it, or higher level students who want to perfect their craft. I base myself on the teachings received from my teachers during all my years of study, in which I have always been especially interested in the importance of the figure of the teacher for the healthy development of students. No, we don't think that being able to sing is absolutely necessary for actors. Not every actor or actress has the ambition to appear in a musical and not every series or film features singing. Learning to practice an instrument well is very important. I really value this very much in my lessons. From the moment one can practice well, it progresses much faster, so that you also prefer to play. I started quite late, so I had to catch up a lot in a short time. In the beginning it progressed quickly, but as the pieces got more difficult I needed new practice techniques. I practiced so badly and that is very demotivating over time. I eventually learned to practice well by asking a lot of different people for help and now I'm making faster and faster progress. I would really like to share this info, so I think I have something to offer for young and old, even if I haven't been doing it that long.

I graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Jazz voice studies and prior to that studied Rock and Pop performance in Vocaltech in London. I have a wide range of knowledge and experience from running group singing to one-to-one tuition. I tailor my approach to each student individually and therefore work with people of all ages and experience levels. My focus with students is on vocal technique across genres including Musical Theatre, Rock, Pop, and Folk, Jazz. I’m very passionate about songwriting and composition and working with text to deliver heartfelt performances and connect to the text. I do regular performances (cafe jazz, corporate events, flute, and tankard) in Wales and outside of dragon land, which provides me with great performance knowledge. I play guitar and piano so the lessons can be accompanied by me or we can use a backing track. I do believe that everybody can learn the principles of singing. My name is Irene, I started my career as a cellist in the south of Spain, between Andalusia and Murcia, where I did my bachelor's degree in cello performance. Later I moved to Belgium to continue my studies, where I studied the Master in Classical Music (cello performance) at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. I have been teaching cello for 8 years both in Spanish and English to all ages and levels, combining my teaching activity with the interpretative improvement of my instrument. I have collaborated with numerous national orchestras and I have received master classes from great cellists at an international level. In Belgium, I currently collaborate with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders and the Chamber Orchestra of Flanders, among others.
