Each lesson can be tailored to your child’s individual needs - whether they are already fluent in English or just beginning to learn :). During the first lesson I will assess your child’s level of English through a range of activities and conversation. This will allow me to gain a better understanding of their level of English and where is best to target. Each following lesson will then have a theme. For beginner speakers this will range from weather, sports, hobbies, colours, shapes, etc and for more advanced speakers writing, comprehension, reading and more complex phrases or English language grammar rules. At the beginning of each lesson we will review the previous lessons topic to ensure it has been retained before moving on to new knowledge. I use a range of resources to support my teaching including PowerPoints, prompt cards, images, bilingual cards and games. I have been teaching children for over 5 years and have a deep understanding of how they learn best and how to ensure progress. Rayen made an effort to contact me prior to the lesson to determine my level and inquire what I wished to focus on. She also called at the agreed upon time. These may seem like minor details, but not all teachers do these. She had appropriate level material ready to share and go over for the lesson. She made corrections as needed and readings were repeated as necessary. My only suggestion would be that she speak a bit more slowly. but this is a matter of individual taste.
