Math, English and Test Prep Tutoring; for primary.
After completing my BA Hons Primary Education degree in 2013, I have taught across Key Stage One and Two on a permanent basis. Meanwhile, I have gained experience in tutoring children from early years up to year 6 in a range of areas. From phonics to SATs preparation to 11+ entrance exams, I'll do my best to boost your child's confidence. I believe that children should develop a love for learning and enjoy exploring the National Curriculum, within what should be a naturally creative environment. All children that I work with have commented on my `bubbly` and `fun` personality, thus making lessons enjoyable. I am known to sing and dance around the classroom whilst being caring and calm to those that need a more settled, black and white approach. Key skills are developed in ways that are both traditional and contemporary. For example, learning the skills of addition through teacher led modelling and application before being reinforced through games. Children should have a say in their learning journey to benefit both their understanding and experience of a topic. Communication with parents/carers and children is at the heart of my ethos. I am passionate about working with children of all ages, ensuring that they make the progress which is perfect for their ability rather than the `age expected progress`. This might be too ambitious or not challenging enough, therefore lessons must be (and will be) customised for each individual.

History studies and the development of essay related skills
I specialise in tutoring history and English subjects. I have achieved A* history at GCSE, A graded history and A-level and I am currently studying at a 2:1 level at university. I have strong political knowledge and I can explore political sciences as well as history based content. I focus on history related to Germany, American and Britain. However, I have a broad understanding of global history and I can adapt my teaching to the Childs syllabus. The main focus on my teaching is to develop strong essay writing, broader understanding of sources, evidence and the use of historians. I also hope to spark an interest in particular topics and locations from around the world. My goal is to make sure the student understands the content and can push their ability to achieve a high quality of work.
