Chemistry for Pre-Med & Pre-Pharmacy Students Build the Chemistry Foundation You Need Before University Are you about to start **Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, or another health-related degree** and want to strengthen your Chemistry before university? Moving from school Chemistry to university-level Chemistry can be a major step. This course is designed to **bridge that gap**, strengthen your fundamental knowledge, and develop the quantitative and analytical skills you will need in your first year. I’m **Dr. Basil**, a Chemistry and Science tutor with **10+ years of teaching experience** and a **Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy**. My Pharmacy background allows me to connect Chemistry concepts to their applications in pharmaceutical and medical sciences while maintaining a strong academic focus. ### What You Will Study **Core Chemistry** • Atomic structure and periodicity • Chemical bonding and molecular structure • Stoichiometry and quantitative Chemistry • Solutions and concentration calculations • Acids, bases, and pH • Buffer systems • Chemical equilibrium • Thermodynamics and energetics • Reaction kinetics • Redox reactions • Electrochemistry • Organic Chemistry foundations ### University-Preparation Skills • Solving multi-step Chemistry problems • Applying equations rather than simply memorizing them • Unit conversions and quantitative reasoning • Interpreting scientific data and graphs • Working with experimental results • Significant figures and scientific notation • Understanding laboratory concepts • Writing and interpreting scientific reports • Developing logical and analytical scientific thinking ### Why Take This Course Before University? ✓ Build confidence before starting your degree ✓ Strengthen areas of Chemistry that are often challenging at university ✓ Develop strong quantitative problem-solving skills ✓ Learn how to approach unfamiliar Chemistry problems ✓ Connect Chemistry concepts with pharmaceutical and medical applications ✓ Become better prepared for first-year university Chemistry ### Who Is This Course For? This course is suitable for: • Students preparing to enter **Medicine** • Students preparing for **Pharmacy** • Students preparing for **Dentistry** • Pre-medical and health-science students • Students transitioning from IGCSE, GCSE, A-Level, IB, AP, or other high-school Chemistry programs • Students who want to strengthen their Chemistry before university Lessons are **structured and personalized** according to your current Chemistry level and the requirements of your future university program. The goal is not simply to review school Chemistry — it is to help you develop the **knowledge, quantitative skills, and scientific thinking needed to approach university Chemistry with confidence.** **Start your university journey with a stronger Chemistry foundation.**

By PROFESSOR & PROFESSIONAL COACH Hello, First and foremost, I would like to wish you a warm welcome back to school and a peaceful year ahead as you work towards your goals. I am aware that the economic situation can sometimes be challenging, which is why I offer my services to accompany your child throughout their academic journey with ease and serenity. Throughout my career as a Graduate Teacher and Graduate Professional Coach, I have worked in various contexts. Until last year, I taught in front of whole classes as well as in private lessons. Since this year, I have been providing face-to-face private lessons at home and also via video conferencing, a mode of teaching that I have practiced with university students for the past ten years. My teaching environment has undergone significant changes, especially with the emergence of the Covid pandemic. This shift has led our secondary school students to adapt to the new mode of learning and communication, namely video conferencing. Despite the success of this transition, it is important to acknowledge that our younger students still require attention and a psycho-emotional connection in order to develop their autonomy peacefully. Over the past two decades, I have implemented proven methodological approaches, some of which are borrowed from theater techniques, such as the Davis method (mind mappings/colors), and my specialty, professional coaching, which aims to enhance your child's motivation. My main goal is to foster agility in your child across all subjects, not only for the present but also for their future when I will no longer be by their side. Ultimately, my objective goes beyond simply focusing on gaining points in a subject. I firmly believe in this approach due to my experience as a Mental Coach working with young athletes between Nice and Cannes, as well as throughout Europe via video conferencing, as part of their preparation for the French Tennis Championships. It has reinforced my conviction that working on a subject should be a nurtured objective that encompasses personal growth and development. As a Professor in General Education, specializing mainly in scientific subjects, I suggest supporting your child in gaining agility in constructing their academic path during this unique period that is filled with both opportunities and challenges. Looking forward to meeting you soon, Corinne. Biochemistry is the application of chemistry to the study of biological processes at the cellular and molecular level. It emerged as a distinct discipline around the beginning of the 20th century when scientists combined chemistry, physiology, and biology to investigate the chemistry of living systems. Chemistry seeks to understand not only the properties of matter, like the mass or composition of a chemical element, but also how and why matter undergoes certain changes — whether something transformed because it combined with another substance, froze because it was left for two weeks in a freezer, or changed colors because it was exposed to too much sunlight.

Biology is particularly a challenging subject because it requires you to first understand the enormous number of concepts and then memories it simultaneously. I'll teach biology through the slides I have prepared (ig/GCSE only) which are made from multiple resource, such as marking scheme, the book and examiner reports, this is beneficial as while I teach the concept it will come to the student the exact way the examiner wants the student to answer, and ofcource while learning the slides he will be Able to directly do the past papers as the notes are mastercopy of the source itself. Moreover, I'll make sure that each topic is fully understood by the student so there will be no room for error.
