Berklee Graduate offers private lessons of Film Scoring, Music Production, Orchestration & Arranging in Utrecht

The way I teach actually depends entirely on the student. The way I explain the concepts, plan and structure the lessons and approach each subject all depends on whether the student is a beginner, intermediate or advanced, and whether he or she has some experience on the subject.

Each student has different needs and different abilities. It's just a matter of getting to know the student, in order to identify both the weaknesses and strengths on which to work.

Excellent guitar teacher: prepared, experienced, and helpful. Highly recommended for effective and inspiring lessons.
That with Hernan was a truly pleasant acquaintance. He is a patient and obliging teacher. This looks like the beginning of a bonding journey.
Hernan is patient, knowledgable and he clearly loves music a lot. It is very inspiring to take a deep dive into orchestration with him and he gives useful tips to start orchestrating myself.
My first lesson went well. Hernan was very thorough and thoughtful in how he approached getting to know me and figuring out where we should go in our future lessons. I look forward to working with him.
My first lesson was great. Mr. Herman's explanations were clear and pacing of the lesson was also good.

Panagiotis
Guitar Lessons(electric, acoustic,classical), Theory lessons
My name is Panagiotis and I am a guitar teacher/player. I have two bachelor degrees: Classical Guitar (Philippos Nakas Conservatory), Jazz&Pop Guitar (HKU Utrecht Conservatory). I have been teaching in music schools and giving individual lessons for the last 14 years. In 2017 I moved to Utrecht to continue my studies in jazz guitar at the Utrecht Conservatory and explore the Dutch music scene.I teach electric, acoustic, classical guitar and music theory. Besides the basic technique and theory knowledge, which Ι make sure to provide to each of my students , I individually prepare their study line, according to their taste and abilities. My goal is to help my students to find their own musicality and reveal their inner voice by giving them the most appropriate tools. Besides teaching I have two bands which I give lots of concerts with , at several venues and festivals.

Mick
Learn to make music with Logic Pro, Pure Data, Max/Msp or Supercollider
Hello! My name is Mick. I am an enthusiastic electronic musician, living in Rhenen, but active in Utrecht and Amsterdam. I have made music for various theater performances and my installations have also been shown in various places in the Netherlands. In this series of lessons we will cover various parts of electronic music, but the teaching material also depends very much on the interests and ambitions of the student. The lessons I teach are completely focused on the desire of the student. If a student is very interested in the technical aspects of sound design or programming, that will be the focus. If a student is interested in producing numbers in a program like Logic, then we will focus on this. The first lesson will therefore mainly be an introduction, in which I show and discuss different techniques with the student, after which I will compile the lesson program based on the ambition and interest. Everyone is welcome to try a lesson, young and old, whether you have experience or not.

Colin
Acoustic & Electric: Professional guitar lessons from an experienced PhD musician
Learn guitar or develop more advanced approaches through active learning and creativity. Students will be playing music from the very first lesson, and acquiring foundational skills and theoretical knowledge through learning your favourite songs. Lessons are tailored to suit the tastes, aspirations and ability of the students. As an experienced performing musician with a PhD in music, I focus on ‘doing’ rather than ‘knowing’, whether that involves learning songs, developing improvisational techniques or songwriting. But most importantly, I make sure we play music together and have fun in the process.

Wilma
Cello lessons for children & adults, of all levels - in Utrecht, Amsterdam, and Zaandam
Hi! My name is Wilma, and I’m a professional cellist. I’ve been playing the cello for most of my life. When I was 3 years old, I saw a woman playing cello on the street, and I fell in love. A year later I started with lessons, and I’ve been enjoying this gorgeous instrument ever since. In my teaching, I look for an approach that works best for each student individually, and challenge them at their own level. Technique and musicality are equally important, and very much connected in my lessons. I approach the instrument with respect to the functioning of the body as a whole, and look for a way of playing that requires the least amount of effort and unnecessary muscular tension, so that the naturally beautiful sound of the cello can be more free to emerge. I enjoy teaching both children and adults, from beginners to advanced players. At the moment, my students are between the ages of 5-80 years, from absolute beginners to very advanced cellists. For young children, it’s important that a parent can listen along to the lessons, and help them to practice at home. A child’s lesson is different from a grown-up’s: with children I do more games, to introduce them to music in a playful manner, and allow them to get comfortable with the technique without having to think about it too much. With children I also work more auditively, e.g. by playing and singing for them and letting them copy that instead of reading notes right away. Whether you would like to learn to play the cello, refine your skills, or further develop yourself as a musician, I would be delighted to join, accompany and guide you on your musical journey. I speak English, Dutch and Afrikaans, and am happy to teach in any of these languages.

We can work from any level that you might be and make music and guitar learning fun and interesting! As a working musician for many years I have experience in a lot of music genres and styles, so I think we can explore anything that you're interested in, in a very deep and detailed level!

Aleksi
Electric and acoustic guitar lessons and music theory for kids and adults.
I currently study guitar at the Utrecht Conservatorium, specialised in electric guitar.

I am competent to teach basic guitar skills to beginners. I have experience in both teaching kids and adults. I speak Russian and English languages fluently, can give basic instructions in Greek too. My lessons are adapted to the interests of the students and their necessities, using more didactic methodologies with the kids. I encourage healthy relationships with the instrument and music, I will help to establish efficient practice routine. With beginners we will start developing deeper understanding of music, sense of rhythm, fingers , we focus on acquiring the basic skills of accompaniment and playing lines. With intermediate players we will develop an individual program focusing on playing songs, improvising and getting familiar with music theory. The program contains
- Positioning of hands, development of micromotor skills, dexterity of fingers. - Sound execution. - Development of basic ear training and sense of rhythm. - Introductory Music Theory and improvisation with scales. - Chords and basic accompaniment. - Creating music, experimenting with sound. - Playing with others - History of musical genres, acquaintance with them

Max
Guitar lessons with a focus on playing technique, sound and applied theory
I want to base my lessons on playing the guitar and related instruments in a way that feels mastered and personal. I therefore want to focus on expression, technique and the aurally malleable nature of the instrument, for example by discussing extended techniques and the use of effect pedals. I want to invite the students to learn to listen carefully to the impact of different playing techniques and audio effects. During the lessons I want to cover different kinds of music theory, especially in an "applied" way that is valuable to the student. I also want to deal with recording and producing my own work. Owning your own effects pedals, a guitar amplifier or recording equipment is not required for this course.

Classical Guitar methods and techniques, repertoire and basic theory
I have been playing Classical Guitar for 14 years. I have always practiced the greatest repertoire from Ancient Music (Dowland, Sanz, Bach), Modern and Contemporary (Paganini, Tarrega, Villa-Lobos, Brouwer) while experimenting other genres (Blues, Rock, Ragtime, Progressive, Pop) and composing music myself. My goal is to valorise an activity that is both methodical and rigorous as well as creative and entertaining as Music itself.

Swar
Beginner/Intermediate Guitar Lessons in English (Netherlands) - Learn your favourite songs!
Hi! Im Swar! Ive been a guitar tutor for the past 8 years. Ive taught over 100 students how to play the guitar I myself have played in several bands and also been a part of a band that has opened for famous artists such as God is am astronaut, karnivool, etc. I have a simple funda: practice! Playing the guitar is a physical skill, I aim to give you enough practice to master this. The practice doesnt have to be boring! Every class you learn a little but of theory and a song to compensate for the theory ;) (except for the first class where you aren't allowed to touch the guitar). I personalize the class plan per student based on their learning needs. Minimum ‘boring’ theory if you know you're a hobbyist! And lots of theory for the nerdy music lovers! I do offer discount if you form a group with another student 2 student group - 20% off each 3 student group - 30% off each However, all grouped students must attend the class at the same time! I personally like group classes! Its cheaper and healthy competition pushes you harder to do better! Im looking forward to your responses! See ya! Cheers!
