I support students at all levels of academic research and writing - from a first essay to a doctoral thesis. I specialise in qualitative research methods; data gathering and data analysis. I am very happy to work with students who have no experience of essay writing, especially those who have come to Higher Education through FE through alternative routes.
I support students undertaking research and written projects who are unable to get the level of tutorial support they need from their universities and want to achieve their full potential. I am also very experienced with students whose first language is not English, and students with dyslexia.

A lecturer and researcher of over twenty years experience, I have two degrees, a Doctorate in Design Education and am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I provide under, post-grad or research students in the social science, humanities and creative subjects with everything they need to know to plan, propose, conduct and write up a research project of any size at any level. I provide simple-to-follow support to make the research and writing process straightforward - and even enjoyable!

I have over 23 years experience of lecturing and supervising at UK universities and teach research, social sciences, humanities, art & design history, creative subjects, (see details below).

I am research active and published in international academic journals and conferences
I have a vast amount of experience supervising non-native English speaking students from all over the world.

I am experienced teaching students with dyslexia, ADD and other learning differences that can make academic work more of a challenge.

I am able to support students at under/postgrad and research levels who struggle to get enough time with their university tutors, enabling them to exceed their academic expectations.

Subjects I teach: Academic research, writing, referencing, from first essays to PhDs. Qualitative research methods, qualitative analysis, research project proposals, research project management, art and design history, 3D design; (spatial, interior, architectural, furniture), design management and entrepreneurship, creative business.
