Hello everyone,

This is Eren, and I am a drummer/music producer, graduated from the HKU Conservatorium Jazz&Pop Drums department. I see that you would like to learn, or get deeper into music production. You are at the right place!

According to your intentions and needs, we will create a detailed lesson plan together, including week by week topics, assignments and music listening sessions. As a musician on the first place, I can help you to "understand" how production works, and not just ask you to learn some templates to produce. We will dive deep into the relationship between musicality and production. Most importantly, we WILL have fun!

-Ableton 101 (how to use the DAW, basic trics)
- How does audio effects work? (compressor, limiter, reverb, delay, EQ etc.)
- Drum beat programming
- Synth 101 (We might talk about physic of sound, how does a synth produce sound?)

-Sequencer and arpeggiators
- DJ'ing (mixing techniques, 2,3,4 deck mixing, music hunting)
- Techno and House music production
- Hip-hop/trap production...

I have my debut EP "Chaos" on all music platforms, with the artist name 'guendes'. You guys can check out my own music there.
I will be teaching at my own home studio. There are several hardware gear, synths, DJ equipment etc.

Hello everyone! This is Eren. I am 25 years old. I am a Turkish drummer/producer, graduated from the Utrecht Conservatorium Jazz&Pop Drums department. I am actively playing in 3 bands, and have good experience for my age. I really would like to share my knowledge and experience with you! I will use the stuff that my teachers gave me in the conservatory, and my own techniques in the lessons. Any level is welcome! I can also help with music theory, ear training, solfege and music production in Ableton(basics of ableton, MIDI, audio recordings, mixing&mastering). We will play, learn, talk, have fun, even sometimes get bored but at the end I will make you a good drummer!

Ableton Live is a powerful tool for making music and designing your own music sets to play live. In the lessons, you will learn how to work with the software and music production tools, learn the tips and tricks, as well as the musical terms necessary to translate your own ideas into music, and you’ll be able to prepare everything for a live show or a master track. Besides the more technical approach, we will also work on composition techniques and how to unleash your creativity. Depending on your background and musical preferences, we will adjust the content of the lessons so that it fits you best. The lessons can be done in English, Dutch, Spanish or Catalan.

Dear reader,

The lesson will be tailored-made depending on your needs and interests. My curiosity and knowledge are versatile and broad. Here is an example of subjects we could touch upon together:
- Experimental music composition with an emphasis on electronic music (fixed media composition, live set, multichannel composition), composition mixing instrumental and electronics, algorithmic music
- Music programming (SuperCollider)
- Experimental music history + specific care of being as inclusive and diverse as possible
- Listening sessions
- Creating bridges between classical and experimental music
- Notation: looking at different scores or ways of writing music than the more traditional ones
- Sound synthesis techniques, spectral analysis of sounds and general understanding of timbre
- Music theory with a specific emphasis on harmony and so-called rational tuning systems
- Basics of recording, mixing, editing, and processing sounds (Live Ableton)
- Music research — for instance, if you have to handle written music assignments or carry on specific music research projects
- Coaching & methodology to enable you to carry your music project from A to Z
- Sharing experiences in the music field and offering guidance and motivational support

I am especially interested in working with female and non-binary students who I believe still need extra support in this field but am generally open to all kinds of people, ages and backgrounds!

FL studio is a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) that has been one of the most used software in the professional field as well as for pure hobbyists for years. For me, Daniël, it led to graduating from the Herman Brood Academy as a Pop/HipHop producer in 2015, as well as winning the Grote Prijs van Rotterdam in 2021. In the meantime, I have done (co)productions for artists including Topnotch (Universal), and my most recent tracks have been heard on BBC1Xtra Radio, for example.

With my lessons I would like to help you from the basics in your development as a music producer. All lessons are tailor-made and practice-oriented, with the necessary theory being applied on site when this is essential. I know from experience that this is the best way to learn in combination with many repetitions of such actions. It is not only effective, but also very fun!

- Drum programming
- Different rhythms
- Use of Samples
- Basic theory (Volume, clipping, panning, BPM, MIDI notation)
- FL Studio software essentials (Convert your own tune to .MP3 and .WAV, Shortcuts, audio and layout settings)
- Use of Virtual Studio Technology (VST) instruments

Naturally, the topics are adapted to your level, but more importantly to your wishes. So do you have a specific genre that you would like to specialize in? Then we will do our best together to develop you into such a producer!

Before we start, I think it's important to mention that fun really comes first. Music is a beautiful means through which we can express ourselves as we want and therefore we can also create what we want. Regardless of the guidelines, no mistakes can be made when it comes to creative expression. It is therefore extremely important to me that you feel comfortable!

My lessons are aimed at teaching a method that can allow student's autonomy in using Max/MSP programming language and the Gen/Gen~ environment. The neophyte can benefit from a practical method, which focuses on the constant exchange between theory and practice; the advanced student will benefit from the refinements of their practice in patch design.
Ideally, the student will be able to be independent in some months.

Students can expect partial covering of DSP topics for music. If needed, a specific lesson can be requested.
Students are invited to present their works and patches, and can expect to discuss them in detail.

Students are expected to be present for each scheduled class, not late, and to avoid a rude or disrespectful beahviour.

I am learning Dutch as for September 2024. As you can understand, I am not able to sustain a lesson in Dutch. So, for the moment, only in English or Italian...
