Trusted teacher: Hello! I'm Joey - I'm a qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher with a specialism in Spanish. Languages and particularly Spanish have become my passion and I really love sharing this passion with others who are interested in it. I’m British, but started learning Spanish at school, I then went on to live in Spain, changed my original degree to study Spanish and Italian and then lived in Spain again! This is one of the key reasons I can really help you on your Spanish learning journey - I have been through it myself! I know what mistakes are easily made, what gets confusing between English and Spanish and what pronunciation is particularly difficult, so I can guide you more thoroughly. Whether you want Spanish lessons because... - you are preparing for exams - you are going on holiday - you want to build more conversational skills - you want to understand and learn more grammar - you need it for work - you just want to try something new I can 100% help you! You will get: - Lessons tailored to your specific needs and goals. - A fun and relaxed learning environment in which your confidence will grow. - Loads of contextualised conversation and grammar practice. - Consistent repetition and practice of previously learnt content, *including pronunciation (super important!). - Lots of real-life scenario practice. - Cultural facts about Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries (if desired). I think there’s something so important about being able to help a student one-on-one, adapting everything I do to your needs and goals, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach to everyone. I want to help you feel more empowered to learn a language or to improve your language skills, doing so on your own terms! Send me a message and we can get started!

Trusted teacher: I run my lessons in 4 steps. Step 1 (content knowledge): I get to know how much the student already knows about the topic. Depending on their level of understanding I will go over crucial subject content and make sure to cover any knowledge gaps. Step 2: I go over practice questions with the student and give them tips on how to tackle the questions and how to answer effectively in order to obtain full marks. Step 3: I give students past paper questions to independently try them. I then mark them and go over any questions they got wrong. I then give them more questions that are similar to the questions they got wrong. Step 4: I quiz the students to make sure there’s no knowledge gap in the specific topic before moving on to a next topic. My aim is to teach students just like the way I like to be taught. Making sure the environment is friendly so that the students can freely ask questions without being intimidated. I am very passionate about making sure that my teaching helps as many students as possible so that they can achieve the top grades. I have previously taught 11+ students in a private tuition. Although I don’t have a broad work experience in teaching but being the eldest daughter I have always taught my younger siblings who both go to a grammar school. I have always helped my friends and classmates in school as well. I have always been a top achiever. I am also a medical applicant with a medical school offer. I can assure you that I will teach my students with complete hard work and dedication.

English has often been described as the 'language of the world', and for good reason! It is a language that allows many people from a multitude of countries to build new lives, pursue new careers, build new friendships and strengthen existing relationships. Many classes and course focus predominantly on the more advanced side of the English language, and whilst this is a very important part of learning English to a fluent level, for the majority of everyday people, the ability to converse and communicate with other English-speaking people is the most important skill they wish to develop. That is what we will work on predominantly in my classes, before proceeding to the more advanced and technical skills and knowledge required to reach English fluency. When we begin learning how to ride a bike, none of us want 10 hours worth of technical knowledge thrown at us about how a bike works or the history of the bicycle......we want to get on the bike and have fun! We will begin learning AND using these conversational English skills straight away, whilst also learning about the English culture too, which will play a key part in being able to understand English people at times. All of these will be conducted in a friendly, informative and fun environment, with interactive tasks and exercises designed to get you using and practising the language. Extra help and advice alongside these lessons will also be offered at no extra cost! Please get in touch if you have any questions, or if you would be interested in booking a lesson!
