Sean - Friedrichshain35€
Trusted teacher: - Berlin based educator with over 12 years' of experience working as a maths tutor and as a classroom teacher. - I specialise in teaching GCSE Maths as well as GCSE English Literature. - Experience with the IB and with UK school entrance exams. - Experience helping students to transition to the UK system. Particular experience working with young people whose neurodiversity impacts on their learning. I bring a comprehensive understanding of the syllabus requirements, as well as a sensitivity to the needs of students of varying abilities and learning styles. I can offer support alongside the student's schooling, or can design a full homeschooling course. Classes can be online, in person or hybrid. I have a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford and an MFA in Creative Writing from St Andrews. Before becoming a tutor and teacher I worked as a government economics advisor, specialising in Education Policy. I have taught at Brookways School, Sutton; The Sultan's School, Muscat; and worked as supply staff at various schools across London. Oustide of teaching, I am a poet, theatre maker, facilitator and play therapist. This helps me to keep lessons engaging and fun. My teaching begins with a good relationship with the student. I also offer classes in drama and creative writing, to adults as well as young people. Selected Case Studies: O (16) and A (14) 2021-2022 (Maths and English GCSE) I home schooled O for one academic year, working on English and Maths GCSE. O has ASD and needed to work with a tutor with experience adapting to his particular learning needs. I worked with O for 12 hours each week. The role required adaptability to the family's schedules and O's varying ability to engage with the work. I now work with O's sister A on maths. A was 14 when we worked together and I was able to help her to plug gaps in her maths knowledge. Zoe (15-16) 2021-2023 (English GCSE) "Sean has been tutoring my daughter for 1.5 years. He engaged well with Zoe who found him inspiring and fun to work with. Sean is thoughtful and diligent, he understood the challenges she is facing with creative writing and constructed the lessons to suit her needs. He was also willing to change the content of a class and adapt to her requests at times that she was struggling to follow up. We feel very lucky to have had Sean supporting Zoe for her GCSE creative writing and would certainly recommend him to other families." (Athina, mother) Bert (15-16) 2021-2022 (Maths and English GCSE) "I would not hesitate to recommend Sean, who tutored my son Bert throughout his GCSEs to success. Bert, who is dyslexic also struggles with ADHD, he's not a natural student and struggles to engage. Sean showed outstanding compassion, rigour and tenacity around getting Bert on task, giving him context of the syllabus and supporting his learning. Sean is kind, thoughtful and holds a firm bar on what is expected/needed from his students. For Bert this worked super well, fostering a relationship of mutual respect. We enjoyed to have Sean stay with us during various holidays and he was flexible in his plans to accommodate different needs and locations. Sean is a great tutor and a really lovely guy and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him." (Rachel, mother)

Charles - Paris48€
Trusted teacher: If your child does not like mathematics or has difficulty, this may be due to a learning method that is unsuited to his psycho-cognitive profile. I offer a simple and personalized pedagogical approach that will allow him to easily understand and shed light on the still obscure and locked areas of his natural analytical skills. With fifteen years of teaching experience, as well as a solid knowledge of psychology and fundamental pedagogy, I am able to quickly detect the factors limiting students' abilities and provide them with the tools and methods necessary to find confidence and motivation, even in the most difficult cases. I specialized in supporting primary and secondary school students. In parallel with my tutoring classes, I also practice and teach violin, piano and music theory. The requirements and analytical skills necessary for musical practice are similar to those required for success in science and mathematics in particular. Albert Einstein himself was a talented violinist. Holder of a license and a diploma at Master II level, I also hold two baccalaureates: a technical baccalaureate in music and a scientific baccalaureate (with honors and very good). During the mathematics specialty test, I obtained a mark of 21/20. Why did the proofreader decide to give me a grade higher than 20/20? Because he judged that my qualities of editorial clarity, presentation and demonstrative rigor were of a university level, which can be explained by the fact that I had already studied the program of preparatory classes for the Grandes Ecoles. My work was therefore considered more deserving than the few other 20/20 graded copies in which there were no errors. Give your child the opportunity to highlight the qualities he already has in order to regain the positive appreciation of his teachers, to develop his full potential and to open the doors himself to a future he deserves. Looking forward to sharing a first lesson together! Charles

Julien helped me learn the material for my university statistics exams. He was very patient and gave very clear explanations about the concepts we were discussing. He was friendly, enthusiastic and encouraging. He prepared material in advance for each lesson depending on my personal needs. I'm pleased to say he helped me succeed in my final exams despite the fact that I'd never really studied statistics before! I am very glad I chose him as my tutor and I recommend him to anyone else seeking mathematics or statistics tutoring, whether in person or remotely.

I've had a few lessons with Sammy so far, and I’m positively surprised by how great the experience has been. Sammy is incredibly patient, attentive to detail, and really takes the time to adjust the lessons to your individual level and pace. I especially appreciate how he gently encourages you to try new things, all while keeping the learning process engaging and intuitive. The lessons are not only productive but also enjoyable — I’m genuinely looking forward to continuing this journey.

My son enjoyed his Physics studies with Tony even though it was his first class. He told me he learnt a lot already on the first day and is confident he will improve his grades within a short period.
