However, diving into the wonders of the piano/keyboard can be a bit overwhelming... and that is where I come in! This course is for anyone from complete beginners to advanced students, from lessons that focus completely on classical music to lessons that include or focus on the basics of jazz/pop. If you like to sing, we can also work on the basics of jazz/pop vocal, so you can learn to accompany yourself at the piano. In our lessons, technique will be an inherent part of the training, as well as analysis, basic music theory, and efficient ways of practicing music. If that all sounds good to you, then please reach out to me and we can start ASAP! Lessons can be in English or Dutch. So who am I? In a nutshell, I am a professional pianist, vocalist, lyricist and blogger. Since 2014, I have taught in various music schools, teaching piano, ensemble, jazz vocal, and solfege. On a more elaborate note, I obtained my Master of Arts in classical piano, summa cum laude, at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent (KASK) in 2017, and studied as a Fulbrighter at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington USA during the 2019-2020 academic year. Every day, I strive to become a better musician and person, and I aim to transfer that passion to my students.

I dedicate a good part of my time to teaching (musical and linguistic) in the format of private classes online or at home. I started giving private classes at home to children when I lived in Germany. During the 22-23 academic year I gave piano classes to students of all ages at the RedMusik Music School (Igualada, Catalonia). I studied the piano and other instruments for more than 15 years at the UGDA and at the Luxembourg City Conservatory of Music. After many years of music theory and piano I obtained the „Première Mention“ certificate from the Conservatory, with the qualification "Très Bien". A good music lesson should include not only technique and reading sheet music, but also theoretical and harmonic study, improvisation, recreational playing with the instrument, and ear training and rhythm exercises. I am interested in designing the lesson creatively and adapting it to the needs and desires of the student. Benoit is a natural teacher and I think has the rare quality to empathise with his students. So whether he is teaching young children, bright adults or struggling grown ups like myself he can sense your difficulties and intuitively develop your skills. I found his manner easy, engaging and with just the right amount of challenge to make you feel progress and confident. To my surprise we spent the first half hour conversing in French. My son had his first lesson with David last night. The first thing my son said was ́ómg he knows his stuff ́ ́... I am really impressed that David took the time to to ask my son quite a number of questions so he could gauge the level and the gaps in my son’s learning.
