About Me

I am an experienced fashion lecturer and tutor for over 15 years in total I have been working in the fashion industry for 26 years.
I run a private professional fashion design and make sessions. I mentor young individuals in how to become a fashion designer helping wth a project or their brand. I work with individuals young as 12 - 40+ in all levels. I run my own fashion service and brand.

You will learn how to design , through sketch, flat drawings fabric knowledge, which shapes suit which fabric, how to pattern cut from a design and how to make a garment of your choice, you will also be given all the tools to expore your own designs in the end and if you wish I will show you how to showcase your work if you want to take it to that level.

The private classes I run are fun , exciting, you will learn so much it will give you so much confidence in what you do how you speak with the knowledge you will recieve. I hope who ever joins me will get much enjoyment out of this as I wil teaching you. The classes can run from 1-2 hours long each session depends on how much you want to learn on the day.

This is a dynamic class which can encompass many areas of the fashion design process, this can included practical skills such as learning Adobe suite, pattern cutting, portfolio making and other skills to wider advice for university or career.

I received my BA from Central Saint Martins and went on to work at Tom Ford, Phoebe Philo and Maison Givenchy as well as time working freelance over this period I was lucky enough to learn some valuable traits or skills which really help getting that first start at a fashion job or that could prove incredibly helpful during your fashion education.

I feel as good as fashion education can be sometimes they have blindspots and don't always completely prepare their students for the realties of industry and I have helped many students to receive interviews and opportunities at companies which they never believed possible for themselves as well a helped to demystify what a career in fashion actually is and how to best prepare for it.

This class offers a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to traditional Savile Row bespoke jacket and coat making, covering every stage of the making process from cutting the cloth to the final fitting and finishing. Students will be guided through the exact methods used in established Savile Row tailoring houses, with a strong emphasis on hand craftsmanship, structure, and precision.

The course focuses on building a garment using traditional canvassed construction, teaching students how each component works together to create balance, durability, and the distinctive Savile Row silhouette. I am the founder of the fashion brand Johannes and an actively practising designer, bringing an industry-focused approach to teaching. I support students in developing strong, competitive portfolios for university applications and professional roles, with clear guidance on concept development, editing, and presentation aligned with current academic and industry expectations.

My professional work includes designing and dressing international artists such as Björk, Lady Gaga, Grimes, Kylie Jenner, Megan Thee Stallion, Rina Sawayama, and Post Malone for performances, editorials, and public appearances. This experience gives students direct insight into professional standards, timelines, and the realities of working under pressure within the fashion industry. My technical foundation is shaped by experience in couture and luxury fashion environments including Viktor&Rolf, Givenchy, Balmain, and bespoke tailoring ateliers.

My teaching covers draping, pattern making, sewing, and hand-based construction techniques, with a strong focus on fit, proportion, and translating ideas into technically resolved garments.
