In the audiovisual field where I have been working for fifteen years, giving a good convincing pitch was the only way to find investors for my documentary projects. The course aims to help the students identify their applications’ strengths and improve their overall performance. I have prepared students for interviews at Oxbridge with a 100% success rate. Plus, I went through several rounds of interviews myself – at Oxford, Cambridge, as well as several Russell Group and Ivy League universities for admission and/or to secure funding.
The personal statement seems to be a genre in itself, which could be difficult to navigate. I have helped numerous students review their personal statements, not only for UK universities (Oxbridge and Russell Group universities), but also for US universities (Ivy League).

When training for a presentation, decide which words and passages deserve extra attention and increase the tone to emphasize these points. If something sounds exaggerated or false, your audience can turn against you.

Volume

A speech is not ordinary conversation, and a presenter can’t convey passion and enthusiasm if the words are delivered softly.

Clarity

Don’t forget to articulate every word, to ensure clarity on your part and understanding on the part of the audience.

Emphasis

Even in the same sentence, emphasizing different words can change the focus of a message. Changing emphasis can alter meaning and/or implication.
