Art is a wonderful tool for relaxation, therapy and expressing yourself.

My classes are for both beginner and intermediate students, so don't worry if you've never picked up a paint brush before!

Beginner classes will look at a broad range of topics - beginning to understand drawing, proportion, tone, collage, ink, mixed media, painting (watercolour, gouache, acrylic), drawing from photos, and drawing from life.

Intermediate classes are shaped by you. They're there to help you strengthen your artistic practice and develop the artist that you are. We can work together on choosing a specific area to focus on - drawing from life, portraits, watercolour painting, still life etc. You can bring exisiting artwork that we can improve, school artwork or projects that we can develop and strengthen.

Extra informatie

You will need to provide your own art materials:
- Paper (preferably cartridge, or heavy weight)
- Pencils
- Rubber
- Ruler
- Paint brushes (synthetic/soft brushes, not bristle brushes)
- Watercolour paints (tube or pan)

+ Any other materials you want to include, or learn with!
(Coloured pencils, fineliner, ink, acrylic, collage scraps etc.)

Hello!

I have a first-class Fine Art degree and have been a practicing artist for many years. I have been featured in countless solo and group exhibitions all over the UK (both in-person and online during the pandemic), and currently sell my artwork all over the world.

I LOVE sharing my passion in art with others and I have ran many in-person and online workshops teaching art to people aged 3-70. Tailoring the workshops and classes to the student and their interest is also a key factor in them enjoying themselves - once I fund out a student loved Harry Potter, that became the subject of most of our sessions!

I am also the Art Technician at a local secondary school - regularly helping children aged 11-18 develop their skills and flourish into incredible young artists!

Being creative brings me so much joy, and I can't wait to share that with you!

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen.

I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist.

I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns.

In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on.

You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns.

Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

De cursus is een Basiscursus en geschikt voor de beginnende als gevorderde tekenaar.
Tijdens de lessen werk je met eenvoudige basismaterialen en in het begin voornamelijk met kleurpotlood om je mandala’s uit te werken. De materialen en hun gebruik ga ik uitgebreid aan je uitleggen.
Naast het tekenen ga ik ook in op de voordelen van het tekenen van mandala’s en hoe je dit kunt gebruiken om jezelf beter te leren kennen en ontwikkelen. Van elke mandala ontvang je een beschrijving over wat er zichtbaar is geworden tijdens het tekenen. In de eerste les ga ik hier uitgebreid over vertellen.
Het is fijn om wat basismaterialen te hebben, daarvan ontvang je een lijst voor aanvang van je eerste les. Ook ontvang je na elke les een PDF met daarin alle behandelde stof, zodat je het later allemaal nog eens rustig kunt nakijken of op een later tijdstip weer kunt oppakken.

De basiscursus bestaat uit 9 lessen die per les anderhalf uur duren. Ook mag en kun je tussentijds altijd contact met me opnemen als er eventuele vragen zijn.

Er is ook de mogelijkheid om diverse vervolgcursussen te volgen na deze basiscursus. De mogelijkheden kunnen tijdens 1 van de laatste lessen besproken worden.

I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer with fifteen years of experience. I studied art and architecture at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Columbia University in New York. I teach painting, drawing, digital image and creativity. This class is ideal for beginners but also intermediate students who want to develop their own style.

For my personal projects, I work in a wide range of mediums, from drawing, painting and printmaking to digital image and 3D Printing. When teaching, I prefer to first focus on free-hand drawing and painting as this allows for greater spontaneity regardless of the student's technical level. We later explore other methods based on the student's individual interests. I like to teach children and adults via mini projects involving art history references and help them develop narratives around their work. I deeply believe in people's creative potential and in my classes will help you channel your own voice.

Always wanted to learn how to draw by hand?
I'll take you step-by-step through the art of drawing. We will work in Black & White with materials you can find at home. No experience needed or expensive materials.
We look at examples in art history and drawing techniques will be explained.
You will be working on different exercises and it will be fun.

I believe that everyone can draw. All it takes is to sit down, start, and keep practicing. I have taught myself to draw faces/portraits and that is why I am very enthusiastic about conveying my creative process to others, so that they can also get started with what they want to create.

I have developed my art and creative process throughout my life. After training at three different art academies, including Willem de Kooning in Rotterdam, I have now been working full-time as an artist for 8 years. I make my works with acrylic paint, but I still draw and sketch a lot on paper. My art style is a mix of spontaneous realism and abstract use of color, pop art and comic style.

Are you interested in being creative, even if you don't know how and/or whether you can do it yet? No problem. We will work together and you will find your way of drawing or painting.

I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London.

Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don’t always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you!

Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs.

The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language.

(Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it. But also be mindful that as we grow our interests can change and as they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.)

For the past eight years, I’ve worked as a technician and tutor at the Royal College of Art and UAL, supporting students in fashion, fine art, and product design with their Rhino and Blender projects.

Before that, I worked as a model maker, and now I’m focused on teaching and creating fine art.

Blender.
I offer instruction in creating detailed static renderings, producing digital models ready for 3D printing, and understanding Blender’s workflows for a professional finish.

Rhino.
I'll help you navigate Rhino’s precision tools, preparing your designs for 3D printing and CNC production with an emphasis on detail and accuracy.

Everyone learns differently. That's why I teach the way you want. You decide what you want to learn and how, including when your lesson takes place and how long it lasts.

I teach art history to anyone who wants to, regardless of age or level, online or at my home in Velp. You can learn about, among other things, the visual arts, music and literature from prehistory to the present. You can work towards an exam/test/training or just learn out of interest. Whether it concerns Michelangelo's David or the graffiti on the walls of Dubai, I'll be happy to tell you about it. Anything is possible.

I trained as a musician/writer and teacher. I have over 10 years of experience in education and have taught art history, music history, creative writing, and other subjects to the upper grades of a small secondary school for several years, where I am also a team member. I write teaching materials that are used at various secondary and higher education schools. I have extensive experience with innovative teaching methods and one-on-one teaching.

Learn, Create, and Perform with Poppie-Joy

With a background melting classical and contemporary clarinet performance, to theatrical movement, masks, and storytelling, I bring a fresh approach to music education. My experience includes leading creative workshops for children through the Philharmonie de Paris and developing artistic projects for young audiences.

In my classes, we explore sound as character, rhythm as movement, and performance as story.
For me, the body is the key to learning : I guide students to develop their body awareness as part of learning, an approach often missing from traditional lessons.

We will explore:

Improvisation and creativity exercises
Stage presence, movement, and breathing
Connecting music to visual or theatrical elements
