Maarten vous donnera les leçons de piano. Il peut enseigner le piano classique et le piano jazz. Il a terminé ses études au conservatoire d'Amsterdam avec le prof. Jan Wijn et a obtenu le score le plus élevé parmi les étudiants en piano (baccalauréat en musique, piano). Il a joué plusieurs concerts en solo et de musique de chambre dans des salles de concert, des églises, des musées, des bibliothèques, des hôpitaux et des maisons de retraite. Il est régulièrement invité par le festival de musique de chambre de Belgique à jouer avec des musiciens célèbres tels que le guitariste philip Catherine. Il a récemment obtenu son diplôme de master au Conservatoire de Bruxelles, étudiant avec le prof. Boyan Vodenitcharov. Als je bezig bent met zingen kan je zelfs een heel ander gevoel hebben en je kunt ervoor zorgen dat je de rest van de dag extra energie hebt.

Je lichaam is je instrument bij het zingen. We proberen dat instrument zo mooi mogelijk te laten klinken ..

Tijdens de zanglessen zijn we ook bezig met articulatie, de uitspraak van vreemde talen en ook aan de betekenis van en je gevoel bij een bepaald stuk. Natuurlijk bepalen we samen wat voor soort muziek je gaat zingen. Ook maken we samen een ontdekkingsreis naar jouw favoriete muziek.

Iedereen kan leren zingen. Door de zanglessen zal dat zijn. Also is singing good for relaxation, zowel van lichaam als geest. Zingen is gewoon genieten!

There are two grand pianos at the location in Den Haag.

For children, it is important to develop basic musical skills through Singing, Rythmique, and Ear training besides piano playing. I use one technical exercise book, the main textbook, and a theory book. Through these 3 books, students learn different aspects of music and they naturally get ready for exams and grades.

After acquiring basic skills, students study Harmony and Chord exercises too. These are useful for playing pops and jazz, and they obtain a deeper understanding of classical pieces too.

Private Piano lesson, from age 4 and above. Children can start the lesson after being able to read the numbers from 1 to 5 and the alphabet from A to G.

Advanced students who want to prepare for competitions, auditions, ABRSM, GCSE, IB exams, or the entrance exam of the conservatory.

The concert is held annually together with students of flute, violin, and composition teachers.

For the ages 1-7 years, I have group Rhythmique lessons.

Après les deux premières leçons consacrées au bec et au manche pour la production sonore, nous commencerons immédiatement à jouer ensemble des duos super faciles pour pratiquer votre capacité d'écoute, faire attention à l'autre, entraîner l'oreille également. J'utilise normalement le livre de Peter Wastall (intitulé Learn as you play) comme support, mais ce n'est pas obligatoire. Il y a plein de bons livres d’ailleurs !

Êtes-vous un étudiant intermédiaire/avancé ?? Je suis sûr que vous pouvez encore vous améliorer dans toutes les bases, mais à un niveau différent. Je vous apprendrai l'importance du "voicing" (technique nommée par le saxophoniste et pédagogue américain Donald Sinta) pour améliorer votre production et projection sonore ainsi que la capacité de corriger et d'améliorer l'intonation. Vous pouvez tout apprendre sur le phrasé et l'interprétation musicale, de la musique tonale aux compositions atonales contemporaines. Et pourtant, vous pouvez améliorer votre jeu ensemble, en pratiquant en duo sur différents aspects comme l'accordage, l'équilibre, l'interprétation, la performance, etc.

Welcome to my introduction site!

My name is Marta and music has been a great love and passion for my entire life.
Singing lessons are not only an opportunity to learn singing and something new about music but also an opportunity to express emotions, forget about everyday worries, and have fun!
Through music theory lessons you can learn about the structure of music and also develop some very useful music skills such as reading music (sight-singing or sight-reading).

All students who have a specific goal in mind, but also all who do not have any specific goal in mind and want to sing or learn theory just for fun, are very welcome!

Different options for lessons that I am offering are described below and all of them can be modified and adjusted according to the wishes and needs of the student:

SINGING LESSONS FOR CHILDREN (individual or group lessons - maximum 10 students*)
Singing lessons for children is basically an integrated method that combines singing with solfeggio, developing basic music theory skills. It consists of playing musical games and singing children's songs and those developing intonation, musical hearing, musical memory, sense for pulse and rhythm, all with attention to healthy singing.

SINGING LESSONS FOR TEENAGERS AND ADULTS (individual or group lessons - maximum 10 students*)
During singing lessons, we will be searching for a deeper meaning of the story and different ways of interpretation, with attention to healthy singing techniques, pronunciation, and style. The lessons consist of breathing exercises, and vocal warm-up exercises with a specific technical goal and work on the desired repertoire - meaning of the words and story, vocal technique, pronunciation, interpretation, and style.
My specialization is in classical singing but I don’t mind working on other genres in my classes.

SIGHT SINGING LESSONS (individual or group lessons)
Intense course where you will be learning how to read music at sight. The lessons consist of sight singing only, beginning from the easiest level and gradually learning how to read more and more difficult music. You will develop skills needed for sight singing as well as a certain way of thinking appropriate for sight singing. (There is no technique of singing or interpretation involved in these lessons.)

SOLFEGGIO LESSONS (individual or group lessons, for children from 8 years old, teenagers, and adults)
In these lessons, you will learn how to bring written music to life (sight-singing), how to discover and put on paper the music you hear (musical dictation), and how to build scales, intervals, and chords. This knowledge is needed and examined in every conservatoire and music academy. For some conservatoires and academies, this is an obligatory pre-requirement and elimination factor on entrance exams. It is an inevitable part of every professional music education.

MUSIC THEORY LESSONS (individual lessons)
Music theory lessons can include, if desired: solfeggio, harmony, counterpoint, music form, analysis, and/or other music theory-related subjects. For each subject, we can make a special program, depending on the wishes and needs of the student.

COMBINED SOLFEGGIO AND SINGING LESSONS
Combined solfeggio and singing lessons are also possible for adults, as separate subjects or integrated with singing lessons. In both cases, the duration of each lesson is 90 minutes and the program is discussed and created based on the wishes and needs of the student. (A combination of individual singing lessons and a group solfeggio lesson is also possible.*)

AUDITION TRAINING AND PREPARATION FOR EXAMS (individual lessons)
Preparation for auditions concerning singing and/or music theory includes preparation for entrance exams, regular exams on conservatories, or preparation for ABRSM exams.

As a pianist and teacher, I have years of teaching experience at private and public schools throughout Croatia.
My main music education and training I got in Zagreb (Croatia) and Vienna (Austria). In 2020 I graduated in the discipline of the piano as 'Master in music' at the ‘Academy of Music’ in Zagreb.

I am familiar with performing the classical repertoire as well as modern 20th and 21st-century music. In 2020 I had been selected as a pianist to represent the composition of Belgian composer Gillis Sacré at a composition competition in Vienna.
In 2016 I took part in a euphony project and performed on a concert tour in Slovenia, Hungary, Austria and Croatia.

These music theory lessons are guided by a Chilean jazz composer with extensive experience in jazz and popular music. The focus of the classes is to provide a solid and structured understanding of the fundamental tools needed to read, analyze, and understand music in a clear and practical way.

Wat kun je verwachten?

Muziek is meer dan alleen de juiste noten; het is een taal, een emotie en een manier om jezelf te uiten. Of je nu een hyperactief kind bent dat rust vindt achter de toetsen, een volwassene die eindelijk dat ene Chopin-stuk wil leren, of een tiener die de nieuwste pophit wil spelen: mijn lessen zijn voor jou.

Ik ben Catherine, een klassiek geschoolde pianiste met een breed repertoire van meer dan 50 stukken, variërend van Chopin en Rachmaninoff tot filmmuziek en hedendaagse pop. Mijn kracht ligt in het overbrengen van de EMOTIE van muziek, niet alleen de techniek.

In een wereld met steeds meer neurodivergente kinderen - kinderen die anders denken en voelen - geloof ik dat het cruciaal is om ze op hun eigen manier te bereiken. Muziek kan hun creativiteit prikkelen en ze laten voelen dat ze zelf keuzes kunnen maken. Of je nu komt voor de rust, de uitdaging of de passie: ik stem de les af op jouw behoefte.
