Ableton Live – Real-Time Visuals, Audiovisual Composition, and Music-Driven Animation
Àpd 502.12 CNY /h
This lesson focuses on creating real-time visuals, animation, and audiovisual composition using Ableton Live together with the visual engine Videosync. It is suitable for beginners and early-intermediate users who want to explore visuals in a musical and performance-oriented context.
We look at how visuals can be created, structured, and performed in relation to sound. Starting from basic setups and visual ideas, we move toward building animated and real-time visual systems that can be used for performances, installations, or audiovisual works. The emphasis is on understanding visuals as time-based systems, rather than relying on templates or ready-made effects.
Depending on your interests, lessons can include:
■ working with real-time visuals and video clips
■ creating and controlling animated visuals
■ structuring visuals in relation to rhythm, timing, and musical form
■ preparing visual sessions and VJ sets for concerts
■ building audiovisual compositions and performance setups
■ creating music videos and visual content for promoting music online
■ developing visuals for art and installation projects
For more experienced users, we can also explore experimental and creative approaches, including system-based animation, generative structures, unconventional audiovisual workflows and developing custom shaders.
Lessons are adapted to your level and goals. No prior experience with visual tools in Ableton Live is required, and the focus is on clear concepts that can be applied across different visual approaches.
Private lessons are available in my studio in Nijmegen, at your place, or online if preferred.

Présentation
I am a visual artist and musician based in Nijmegen, working across audiovisual systems, electronic music, sound design, and live performance. I hold a B.A. in Music Technology and Composition and also studied Visual Arts, and I have been working professionally with sound and digital media for around 15 years, with the last five years primarily as a freelance artist in new media.
Alongside my artistic practice, I teach and guide students through music and visual production workflows, focusing on clarity, structure, and context rather than presets or shortcuts. I work mainly with Ableton Live, using it both as a composition tool and as a flexible system for experimentation and performance. This can range from producing and finishing tracks to audiovisual systems, generative approaches, and interactive setups.
I work with synthesizers, electronic instruments, and hardware setups, and I also have experience playing string instruments and singing in bands. This helps bridge technical production with musical thinking and allows me to tailor each lesson to your goals in a meaningful way. Lessons are suitable for beginners as well as early-intermediate users who feel stuck or want to develop a more confident workflow. I place strong emphasis on helping you find your own voice as an artist.

This lesson offers a practical and structured introduction to music production with Ableton Live, suitable for beginners and early-intermediate users.
We focus on the full creative process: starting from ideas and basic setup, moving through composition and sound design, and building towards playable loops or short tracks. The emphasis is on understanding how Ableton works as a system, rather than relying on presets or fixed recipes.
Depending on your interests, lessons can include:
► writing and structuring musical ideas
► working with MIDI and audio
► drum programming and rhythm
► sound design and synthesis using Ableton’s built-in instruments
► basic mixing and mastering principles (levels, EQ, dynamics, space)
► preparing a session for live performance
For more experienced users, we can also explore experimental and creative uses of Ableton Live, such as unconventional workflows, generative or system-based approaches, and custom performance setups.
Lessons are adapted to your level and goals. No prior experience with Ableton Live is required. We mainly work with Ableton’s stock devices, so no additional plugins are needed.
