I help my students like Math by simplifying problems for them. In the course of my experience working with basic learners, I have observed that they tend to understand mathematical concepts faster when you relate them to real things they are familiar with. So my teaching style is to try as much as I can with whatever resources are available, to get my learners to relate numbers to the quantities of items around them as well as shapes and curves of items in their immediate environment. So far so good; I have had good results with my students and they continue to get better as they grow. I help them in their area of struggle by simplifying questions developing interesting conversations around numbers. Likeability increases a student's zeal to learn. I intentionally build a healthy relationship with my students so they can be more open to learning from me and asking for help when necessary.
