I have over 4 years of experience in teaching and tutoring English as a second language. I am currently a PhD researcher at King’s College London and run this tutoring business on the side, as I enjoy motivating students to learn new skills and overcome challenges.

I have studied English language and literature for all of my academic life and being multi-lingual (Fluent in Dutch and Sinhala), I understand how difficult it is to learn a language as a complete beginner. I am an empathetic and understanding teacher, but I also know how to push your limits and show you what you are capable of.

I will assign some, flexible homework for out of class, but most of the content will be addressed in the lesson. I am available to teach all levels of English or aid in English literature, but please message me for more information!

Having just finished the International Baccalaureate Diploma, I have moved to London to go to Queen Mary University of London. Here I am studying Politics and International Relations, but did my IB in the subjects: English Literature, Geography, Economics, Math, Dutch Language/Literature and Biology.

Dutch Language for Beginners - (Online / All Ages)

As a native Dutch speaker who did both IGCSE and IB dutch at a mother-tongue level, I will be providing these classes to give lessons on the basics of the language. It will depend on previous knowledge and experience, but complete beginners are welcome to book a class as well! I have over 4 years experience in personal tutoring. I have a CELTA certificate (Certificate in Teaching English to Adults) and an MA in English Literature completed at Kingston University London. I also have an MA in Multilingual Communications from the ‘Université Libre de Bruxelles’ in Brussels and a BA in Modern Languages (English/Spanish).

I have been working as a teaching assistant and as a teacher of English and French as foreign languages since 2010 in various schools in both Luxembourg and London. Teaching and studying languages in different countries has given me an opportunity to discover a range of different learning and teaching environments.

I speak German and Romanian fluently in addition to English, as well as conversational Chinese and Spanish, which may make it easier for some. I tailor the class to suit the individual; after a first session I can assess the student's goal (ie. conversational, business, written, etc. level of English) and create a program to suit this.
