Starting university can feel overwhelming. My Academic Foundations tuition programme is designed to help students transition smoothly into third-level study, with practical, real-world academic skills and supportive guidance.

Together, we focus on:

• Understanding the structure of academic writing
• Developing a clear, confident writing style
• Learning how to plan and structure essays
• Avoiding plagiarism and understanding academic honesty
• Navigating digital platforms like VLE systems and Turnitin
• Building problem-solving skills through discussion and practical exercises
• Strengthening wellbeing and study habits

Sessions are conversation-led, interactive, and tailored to the individual. I combine guided discussion, small group work, and real assignment practice to help students not only improve their grades, but feel genuinely confident in their academic voice.

Ideal for first-year university students, particularly those studying Arts and Humanities.

Bonjour,

I'm of mixed French and Polish origins and I've been living in Paris for many years. I hold a PhD degree in French Literature from Sorbonne University and I've been teaching French and English since 2013. During my class, you will learn how to communicate effectively - and in order to speak, you'll need to practice! I have a passion for French culture, literature, music, film and theatre, and I believe that it's through culture and experiencing the language directly in everyday life that you really immerse yourself in a language. I train also for exams and DELF/DALF. Apart from this, I work as a tour guide specialised in French medieval architecture and a week-end trip to Paris (sightseeing included!) can be planned during the course to immerse in French language, cinema, food and beautiful Parisian museums. Practicing French in French boulangeries, restaurants and bookshops in Amsterdam can be planned as well. If you're interested in more than practicing speaking and pronunciation skills, we can alternate the grammar/writing classes (held at home) and conversation classes (held anywhere!). We'll use news, social media, Netflix and much more. À bientôt !

I always motivate my students to do their best and to speak in French during class. I always give homework to practice writing skills.
From B1 level we talk about news and culture, my lessons are always concrete and goal oriented. Repetition is also part of my lessons, so that students can learn new material with confidence.
Finally I also offer Delft exam training from A1 to B2 levels - a diploma that is required for many Hotel Schools and also to be able to work and study in French-speaking countries.
