Hallo, mijn naam is Lex. Ik heb wiskunde gestudeerd in Groningen en een jaar voor de klas gestaan als LIO (Leraar In Opleiding), waarna ik mijn 1e graads lerarenbevoegdheid heb behaald. Hoewel ik niet voor een carrière als docent heb gekozen, heb ik het (bij)lesgeven altijd erg leuk gevonden. En helemaal het moment waarop ik bij mijn leerling het kwartje zie vallen! Dan weet ik dat de leerling het echt begrijpt en goed zal toepassen in de lessen én toetsen op school.

Mijn werkwijze is over het algemeen als volgt: je laat me weten wat het onderwerp is en welke methode (lesboek) het betreft, zodat ik daar op aan kan sluiten. Ik geef uitleg over het onderwerp, toegepast op je specifieke vraag, en we maken samen een aantal opgaven uit het boek. Daarbij ben jij vooral aan het werk, en zorg ik ervoor dat je de stof op de juiste manier toe weet te passen.

Ook geef ik je tips hoe je je score op een toets kunt verbeteren, bijvoorbeeld door je antwoorden logisch op te schrijven en toe te lichten.

Mathematics is the language in which everything is explained from everyday activities to the complexity of the universe. However, one may need some help and practice to gain a deeper understanding or just to pass an upcoming examination be it to meet a requirement or for achieving good grades.

My name is Balazs Kovacs and I am currently studying physics at the University of Groningen. Because I have always loved teaching I organized a system in which tutors and students could be paired up. Needless to say that I also participated in it as a tutor myself besides successfully preparing students for school-leaving exams and ordinary exams. Ben jij een student op de middelbare school of het voortgezet onderwijs en heb je problemen met het begrijpen en oplossen van wiskunde of natuurkunde problemen? In 2023, I successfully completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at the same time as the Czech Baccalaureate exam at my high school. I enjoy mathematics, I had a special tutorial programme in it and as part of my extra-curricular studies I simultaneously studied mathematical analysis at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague. From September 2023, I am studying mathematics in English at the University of Groningen. I have 5+ years of experience in tutoring mathematics.
Despite my interest in mathematics, I know that not everyone enjoys numbers, equations, functions or derivatives and integrals and I am ready to teach you not only these areas to the best of my ability.

Hello, I am a mathematics masters student specializing in algebra, geometry and number theory. I have graduated from the university of Groningen with a bachelor in mathematics. As such, I've spent a great deal of time studying mathematics at a higher level and have become acquainted with a broad range of mathematical disciplines such as algebra, geometry, analysis, calculus, probability, optimization and more, this of-course includes any high school mathematics. During my studies I working as a teaching assistant whenever possible so I have some experience teaching.

In mathematics there are often many ways to come to the same conclusion and it varies from person to person what they consider easiest to understand. As such I try to get to know the student first and figure out how they may learn best. Personally, I rely a lot on intuition and deep understanding of concepts and so i try to convey to students the most essential and fundamental ideas before moving on, as well as, giving them interpretations of what is happening so that they may becomes easier to imagine and more tangible. In solving any problem, I think it is important to first sit back and understand what is going on before embarking on any calculation or proofs.

In a typical class I would first survey what the student already knows and discuss the concepts with them making sure they understand them very well then we would move on to discussing examples and non-examples (this would take most of the class). Finally we would solve problems together discussing them as we go along. This of course can vary from student to student, their level and time available.
