My name is Maria and I am a specialized Greek teacher. A Greek native speaker, fluent in English and with a good level in Spanish and French language.
For the last years I have been working as a greek language teacher to foreigners.
I graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the field of History and with a Master degree in "Special Education" from the University of Nicosia- Cyprus.

We will make the lessons both orally and practically. All the exercises are in the appropriate level, starting with the lowest level and continue with the highest. In each lesson the student will have some exercises as homework. In the end of each month we will have a small repeat!! I am also a braille tutor for both Greek and English!

Modern Greek is a difficult language to learn, nevertheless it will surely enrich your world. It takes years of dedication to master it. Learning Greek in Greece is very helpful, as it is a difficult language to learn and in Greece you can practice it directly in your daily activities.

With Greek knowledge you will be able to travel all over Greece and Cyprus while communicating with the people you meet in their mother tongue. Learning modern Greek gives you understanding in ancient Greek as well, and a lot of international words that have an ancient Greek root.

A total beginner typically needs 3-4 years of 2-hour weekly lessons to be able to communicate on an intermediate level of B1.
Trips to Greece and contact with people that speak the language help greatly to gain a quicker pace of learning.

I typically suggest a graded textbook (for communicative or business purposes), but also provide the learner with handouts, in order to offer an authentic language experience. I provide and suggest extra educational material for self-study.
I prepare students for a Greek language certificate (all levels) or for the Greek citizenship test that is required for the residence permit.
