A-level Further Maths is probably the best subject you can do. It's the mot fun and it's also the most rewarding. It goes into the most depth, and it is the broadest of all.

During teaching, we'll go over different topics such as complex numbers, vectors, matrices, 3-D geometry, calculus, mechanics, statistics, and other intriguing ideas that have to be learned. We'll start from a fundamental concept, theorem, technique - and then build up from there as we move forward. We'll question everything that we do and the validity of each proof. We'll try to go into as much depth as we can, to build sound understanding of the mathematics behind the ideas that we'll discuss. You'll have to be curious and not hesitate to put in some work to get better - but it's definitely possible, if done in the right way.

Hi, I'm David, a mathematics student at the University Of Oxford. I love mathematics and physics, and I love to teach them and speak about them all day long.

I've got my own way of teaching, but it works and I find it particularly effective. People only learn when they have questions, and not when I ask them random questions. My technique is to make someone curious about the topic I want to teach, get them to see all the beautiful and fascinating aspects of it, and from then on we can build up a strong and deep understanding of everything that needs to be known. This way, the student gets to learn the way mathematics/physics should be taught, and I get to teach something that I love - and hopefully, some of my love for the subject will get the student to love it too.

I love students who are curious and are asking questions. Ones who are engaging in every possible way and learn from getting things wrong. The type of students I would like to teach are ones who genuinely want to master mathematics not only as a qualification but as a skill - a way of thinking.

A-levels can seem hard. It's quite a big step-up from GCSE's, and you may have found that the workload has significantly increased and you can't fully understand what's going on like you want to. As a student, you'll have to understand concepts and master techniques such as algebra, calculus, geometry, mechanics and statistics.

I teach all these things the way I learned them. I'll be asking questions during classes, and we'll hopefully get you to be able to answer them. It's okay not to know the answers straightaway, as what matters is how your way of thinking develops and adapts to mathematics/physics. With some time, you'll be able to solve more complicated problems and answer my challenging questions. With some effort, you will build a deep and broad understanding of the techniques, theorems, experiments and models that we'll discuss.

My method: Logic before calculation
In the final year of high school, the difficulty is often not the calculation itself, but understanding the problem statement and choosing the correct theorem. My support focuses on three key areas:
