In our Oud class, I will guide you through everything from basic to advanced techniques. We will cover playing for all levels, correct left-hand use, synchronizing with the right hand, handling the pick, tuning the Oud, and effectively using a tuner and metronome. In the remaining time, we will dive into reading musical notes, starting with basic Solfege and progressing to advanced and oriental Solfege, including dictation exercises. This comprehensive approach ensures a well-rounded musical journey

My recommendation for learning the Oud is to begin by studying musical notes and notation before delving into songs. While some students prefer to jump straight into playing songs, understanding the fundamentals of music notation accelerates progress in the long run. Dedication and hard work can yield significant progress within a year, enabling you to play simple tunes.

Passionate about classical guitar? Eager to learn the basics and techniques of this captivating instrument? Already a guitarist and eager to progress both technically and musically, or even to specialize in a particular style?

I am a qualified composer and guitarist, holding a Bachelor's degree in classical guitar as well as a Master's degree in Composition and Musical Theater. With experience started in 2003 and enriched alongside various teachers and guitarists with varied styles and origins, I have developed a personalized teaching method for learning the guitar. Additionally, as a Syrian musician and oud player, I also offer oriental music and Oud lessons.

I provide classical guitar and Oud lessons (in French or English) at your home, with the possibility of organizing them via Zoom. Favoring face-to-face lessons, especially for beginner children, I also offer music theory lessons if necessary, in order to further facilitate your learning.

Jawa (1996) a Syrian oud player, singer and composer.
I was born in Aleppo, and I grew up in Damascus, Syria. I started playing music at the age of eleven. I chose the Oud as my instrument because my father used to play it everyday at home when I was young. Gradually, I fell in love with it and now I feel an unlimited feeling of freedom while playing it. Graduated from Rotterdam Conservatory in 2021.

Experienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years.

My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run. With determination and hard work, significant progress can be made in a year, allowing one to play simple melodies.
