Although I am a trained philosophy teacher for secondary students, I have shifted my focus to tutoring English and Portuguese language learners. My goal is to provide dynamic classes that allow students to use functional language in real-world ways, but each class can be tailor-made to the individual's needs. I use Cambridge materials for my English classes, in addition to real-world texts and videos, to train students on grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. Student-centered classes are the most beneficial in my opinion, so I focus on having the student speak while also guiding them with the correct language depending on their problem areas.

My adventure began in Sri Lanka and led me to the Netherlands in 2018, where I've continued my mission of finding innovative ways to work with children. Currently, I'm teaching as a Montessori educator, specialising in the care and education of children aged three to six years.

I have experience in educating children in different roles as a Montessori guide, a primary school teacher, a private tutor catering to individual children's needs, and a qualified special needs teacher. These different roles have sharpened my skills and improved my ability to cater to each child's individual needs.

In addition to my experience as an educator, I also have conducted private music lessons in piano and organ for children between the ages of 3 and 10. With a gentle and patient approach tailored to each child's unique needs and age, I introduce them to the enchanting world of music. 4. Practicing a lot and repeating previous lessons.
5. Structured work. This mainly means working on the grammar of English because grammar gives structure to a language.

I specialize in tutoring English and German grammar as well as pronunciation. I keep track of a level of progress and make sure my students get their personalized material as well as the support they need from me. I assign homework if needed / requested and will make sure my students get a fitting program to increase their language level as efficiently as possible. As a native English speaker with knowledge of various foreign languages and global issues in history and the political economy, I can provide English lessons to various learner levels and age groups in many different subjects. I received my master's degree in International Relations at Leiden University and worked in international diplomacy at the UN. Previously, I worked at universities in research administration and media companies. I have a TEFL degree and plenty of experience managing academic events and teaching.
