About Me
I am a teaching artist who also works with technology. I have taught art, art history, making and engineering, 3D printing, English, and also creative writing. I love creative work. I love art and I love the sciences. More than anything else, I love finding connections between different disciplines, people, and ideas. AP and IB portfolios are my specialty.

I have worked in some of the toughest schools and some of the most privileged schools. Crossing these boundaries in the US and Asia, I find people need the same everywhere, a partner and coach to explore ideas and to build a plan and portfolio for moving forwards. I began teaching Art in 1999, grades 5-8 in Philadelphia. I taught in Chicago from 2002-2012 mostly teaching art and art history to grades 6-12. I then took my technology degree and ran maker spaces in schools teaching 3D printing, design, digital fabrication, and innovation.

Since moving to Hong Kong in 2019, I have been teaching a little of everything, mostly as a tutor. My specialty is making learning fun and building portfolios and creative projects using multiple disciplines. Within Butoh, there is the concept of ma, the space in between, referring to invisible and empty spaces where matter cannot be seen, yet which are filled with life and presence. This understanding resonates with aspects of Buddhist philosophy, offering a sensitive invitation to experience oneself, the surrounding space, nature, and life with greater awareness and openness.
