Biology Broken down- Teaching kids biology in a simple yet effective way

Biology can be a daunting subject, and one that children often struggle with due to experiencing challenges in grasping key scientific concepts.

In this class, we prioritise striking a balance between theory and practical learning, to construct a balanced approach to education. We encourage students to utilise their inquisitive nature by questioning the world around them and conducting supervised experiments in order to make observations and learn from them. This boosts the memory of the learner due to being a form of active learning, and furthers the students desire to learn.

As well as this, we use textbooks and other learning resources to learn the key facts and principles biology. Once students have a solid understanding of these principles, we guide them through exam style questions(tailored to their syllabus)in order to boost their problem solving abilities. This allows them to approach questions with a systematic, methodical and logical approach, enabling them to fully apply the relevant knowledge in a concise way to answer the question posed.

Whether you are preparing for SATS, or on a quest for knowledge, we can discuss a plan tailored to your requirements. I also provide frequent progress reports and set homework tasks.

Overall, we construct fun and engaging lessons that set up students with key skills such as a logical approach to problem solving, which is required for higher education in every subject. Each of our lessons take place in a comfortable environment in which students can feel confident to speak their minds.

As a teacher I would describe myself as firm but fair. I’m always kind to the students and make them feel comfortable, but I also ensure I push them to achieve the best they can.

I take a hands on approach to teaching, encouraging students to be confident and open minded to ask questions and challenge concepts in order to truly make discoveries. I push students to be proactive and enjoy learning. I ensure that lessons are often practical(safe and supervised) in order to engage students fully.

I have never tutored full time, but have helped tutor younger year groups at my secondary school and I have plenty of experience dealing with kids. I have worked at a children’s football school for over a year and have done babysitting for relatives as young as 3 years old. I am a responsible and reliable teacher who can be trusted to be respectful and show eagerness to help students learn
