Hello! My name is Mary and I'm from Singapore. I love traveling, meeting people and learning languages. I'm a polyglot, that means I'm interested in languages and can use quite a few of them fluently: English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, etc.

My background
I've been living and teaching in Japan for over 20 years. I've taught at schools and universities, large corporations (JR East), government Ministries (MOE),and even the military (JIETAI).

During my time here, I've taught English (still teaching) to people from all walks of life: school students, teachers, home-makers, retirees, technicians, designers, company executives, physicians, lawyers, police officers and military personnel, etc. I've taught conversational Mandarin & Cantonese too, to students of all ages, both in person and online.

My focus and belief
I'm friendly, fun and energetic. In my classes, I focus largely on having a good time. My belief is that you learn better if you're having a good time. Of course, I also believe in helping my students improve their pronunciation, intonation, and fluency; and for them to reach the goal of communicating naturally and confidently in the language (languages) they choose to learn.

My home university is HEC Paris, a French top-tier business school, ranked 2nd best business school in Europe by the Financial Times.

We will start by :
-Greetings lessons as an introduction,
-French basic vocabulary associated to practical situations.
-Verbs learnings and basic case use with the previous learned vocabulary
-Text readings
-Key structures reviewings

Once the student feels he progress we might increase the difficulty.

Intermediare level:
I'd like to help non-french native speaker who are not beginner to learn casual french through various discussion topics but also by reading text samples to get used to french readings and learn vocabulary.

Advanced level :
Discussion could be done about any topics upon the student request

For beginner, intermediare level and confirmed levels:
Lessons might switch to english when needed

I give lessons ranging from simple conversation and pronunciation (around orality) to grammar and spelling. I have been a private teacher of French and English (all levels) for six years. I teach foreigners wishing to learn French as well (FLE).
I also gave courses via an organization on half-class formats. I prepared for the exercises of the baccalaureate and the patent (in French as in English).

About me: I speak Japanese!
A former student of the literary preparatory class in Janson-de-Sailly, I then studied at La Sorbonne in French literature. I also have a confirmed C2 level of English. I like to transmit and teach, which I have been doing for 6 years now with passion.

I am a twenty-three year old exchange student at Tokyo International University, born and raised in Sweden
and I speak four languages! Mainly: English, Swedish, French and Lingala.

I have used the english language professionally both while working in the United Kingdom and studying in Sweden and Japan.
My passion for teaching runs deep and its something I have been doing for a while since before I came to Japan.
