Hi, my name is Laura, I moved to Amsterdam to study Creative Business and am now working as a product manager for a music management company. Besides that, I've always had a passion for languages and have been teaching them in the past. I grew up both in Belgium (Flemish side) & the South of France which makes me perfectly bilingual. In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). My linguistic background gives me the capacity to explain the sounds and various processes of the language, from a perspective many natives do not know. In teaching, I practice the holistic approach. It is my belief that language is for people of every age and education, but I'm aware that everyone deserves a personal approach. In the first session, we always do a needs analysis and become acquainted, to make sure we click as people and will enjoy working away at your personal language goals.

Over the years, my classes, have proven to raise the confidence levels of students. We practice knowledge in English, on 4 levels of proficiency: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.

I will focus on your strengths and guide you to how to use those to your advantage in learning. We will elicit your potential. With a little help, I am sure you will achieve the goals you set for yourself.

Hello everyone! I hold a doctorate in Italian, have been teaching Italian for 5 years and hold a CELTA teaching qualification. I've been preparing students for the A-Levels and GCSE (language + literature). I can prepare you for specific examinations, language lessons in general or teach you Italian for business. The lessons are for everyone, whatever their age or level (children to adults). I will make sure that you discover the Italian culture through the lessons, learn the correct pronunciation and of course learn some grammar. I am open to your needs and can speak a few languages to make sure you understand fully the lessons (of course, we’ll try to use mostly Italian in all our lessons depending on your level).

These classes aim at people who want to develop their Portugueses skills, both from scratch with some previous knowledge. The pedagogical structure is adaptable to the situation; school-aged children with Portuguese parent(s) who don't always have the time and opportunity to teach them, adults who need practical advice and relatively quick skill training because of a Portuguese-speaking partner, friend, traveling, etc...
Students are always encouraged to develop their interest in the Portuguese language.

Altijd al spaans willen leren, maar gaan de gewone lessen te snel en/of blijft het niet hangen, volg dan deze op maat gemaakte lessen.

Waarom les voor 40+, omdat wij uit eigen ervaring hebben geleerd hoe moeilijk het is om op latere leeftijd nog een taal te leren en dat de meeste boeken/cursussen gebaseerd zijn voor jongere leerlingen.

Alle lessen worden aangepast aan uw individuele wensen en snelheid.

U hoeft geen boeken aan te schaffen, al het materiaal wordt via de email aangeleverd. Dit omdat wij met meerdere boeken werken en op deze manier veel leerstof kunnen bieden en zo ook de leerstof afwisselend kunnen maken (en ook vaker kunnen repeteren indien nodig.)

Er is geen minimum of maximum aantal lessen, u bent zelf degene die de frequentie bepaald. Uiteraard kunt u deze lessen ook met uw partner samen doen.

De lessen worden online via Skype gegeven en duren 1,5 uur per keer.
Lessen kunnen overdag of 's avonds gegeven worden.

I am a native Swedish, Spanish and English speaker and provide tutoring in all those languages.

During the tutoring sessions the student and I will look for ways of learning that works best for them, so they can be as engaged and retain as much new knowledge as possible. This comes from listening to the student and seeing their strengths and areas where more support is needed.
The key in my teaching is to make it fun. I am engaged and motivated with my students, and want to help them see the fun and value in what they are doing.

Lessons are customised to the learning needs of your child. Whether that be learning English, Swedish or Spanish for the first time or practicing improvement of speaking, reading, comprehension, pronunciation, listening, writing, grammar, etc. Lessons can also be aimed towards learning a topic such as food, animals, sports, emotions, and more.

For children who are fluent in one of these languages, tutoring can be given to further excel in particular areas. Specific subjects that interest the student can be incorporated into the lesson to broaden their knowledge within this topic.

Depending on the students age, lesson duration can be adjusted. I also do lessons for siblings. My aim is to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment for my students.

Education:
I have ample experience working with kids as I worked at a YMCA summer camp in Sweden for many summers, supervising a group of 10-12 kids around the clock for 4 weeks, joining/monitoring them on their group activities/classes, as well as everything else logistically around them. I also have a genuine interest in child development and pedagogy as a whole.

I have a bachelors degree in Social Psychology and one in Media and Communications from Uppsala University in Sweden.

I specialize in tutoring English and French as they are both my native languages. I have extensively studied French and English literature for more than 10 years and would wish to convey what I've learnt to other students. My goal is to keep students at a high level with their foreign language courses and to maximize their interest for both of these beautiful languages. I assign homework after every class in order to keep the student captivated but mainly to make him/her improve.
