Hey there, I'm Roberta, an environmentalist from Sardinia.

I moved to Amsterdam six years ago, and I'm on the lookout for exciting new opportunities. My academic background is in International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs, and my journey has taken me through various countries – France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, and now, the Netherlands.

I'm here to offer Italian courses tailored to your needs – whether you're looking to sharpen your grammar, spelling, and pronunciation or gearing up for language exams. For those already fluent, we can dive into news readings and discussions on selected topics to enhance comprehension and fluency.

In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). My linguistic background gives me the capacity to explain the sounds and various processes of the language, from a perspective many natives do not know. In teaching, I practice the holistic approach. It is my belief that language is for people of every age and education, but I'm aware that everyone deserves a personal approach. In the first session, we always do a needs analysis and become acquainted, to make sure we click as people and will enjoy working away at your personal language goals.

I teach all levels of english and have experience in different age groups as well as levels. Making you feel comfortable in my classroom is essential to a good student teacher relationship. I like to make my lessons as interactive as possible. Students learn from me but i also learn from my students. Learning whilst having fun is key! I give all sorts of lessons, from speaking, to grammar to vocabulary. You know the drill.

I try to use as many materials and visuals as possible, I design worksheets, stories and games for my students. Its most important to set goals throughout the proces and reflect on these goals after each lesson to know where we stand.

Depending on your request, the class can focus on the improvement of your oral or written competencies. If you want to learn grammar or master your letter writing or comprehension skills, we will work on that. In case you want to maintain the level of your understanding and oral abilities, we will improve that.

Hola everyone!
I have always been passionate about arts, culture, people, and traveling, and through my communicative experiences interacting with different people in different languages around the world, I have understood the essential needs when it comes to language acquisition. That is why my method is a compilation of the traditional usage of books, texts, audios, and short films, combined with PowerPoint presentations full of images, interactive games, and recreation of real-life situations in which the students will naturally learn complex grammar topics while having fun. I also create a particular relationship with each student to detect the type of learner the student is and tailor the class according to his/her personality, needs, and expectations. The class can be taught in English or Dutch but I am always aiming to expose the student to Spanish as much as possible so he/she can experience faster progress.

I am a native Spanish speaker with a bachelor's degree in Social Communication from Pontificia Javeriana University in Bogota-Colombia, ELE Spanish Teacher certified by Lola Martínez Cabrera Senior Professor from “Molinos de Viento” in Amsterdam and hold a postgraduate degree as ELE Spanish teacher from Barcelona University and International House. To start we will first talk about your experience and current skill level and then look at where you could improve on. We will discuss which areas you want to focus on, where I can prepare materials for you to get you more secure in speaking and writing the language depending on what your goal is!
I will then personally create and structure the lessons for you and help you wherever possible :)

Some sort of Homework or exercise will be introduced but of course in a fun way. If you want to focus on writing I can give you practice writing exercises and we can go over these together!

I specialize in teaching Greek to beginners and intermediate students, providing them the foundation to master this difficult language. I cover topics such as word order, grammar, spoken vs. written Greek, conversational and every day Greek, as well as spelling, writing, and pronunciation. Each class can be tailored to the students individual needs. This class is for anybody who just wants to improve speaking/writing, as well as for those just starting out.
