Adobe Illustrator and InDesign are both excellent software to use by design students as tools for creating a perfect, desired presentation. As an architect-urbanist and also 10 years of experience in using the software since I was in high school, I personally would say that I'm capable of helping you understand and master both software.

Ranging from their tools to their workflows, you will find it very easy to produce great graphics for all of your projects once you understand how powerful they are.

I once become a tutor back in my university for such software and many of my colleagues and friends also look out for me asking how to do this and that with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. So, I would be very happy in helping you mastering both software for your better work.
