Oriental dance is a dance of Egyptian origin, which includes many styles. Originally, it was a spontaneous and improvised dance, but today it is taught academically all over the world. It is traditionally practiced by women, who express by this art their femininity, their vitality, but also their feelings, joys and sorrows. In general, this dance is characterized by the dissociation of the parts of the body (isolations) that can move independently of one another. Oriental dance is as good with jerky rhythms as slow and fluid. Bellydance is not limited to movements of the pelvis: it solicits flexibility and tonicity of the bust, shoulders, arms, hands, pelvis and belly. It helps tone the thighs, relax the joints, develop the abdominals and maintain the back. Most of the work resides in the muscular contraction, this dance can be practiced at any age, in the respect of the limits of each dancer or dancer. The course begins with a joint and muscle warm-up, followed by technical work. The basic movements are then integrated into sequences that allow you to move in space and experience the pleasure of dancing, before ending with a session of relaxation.
Functional fitness training through bodyweight exercises and Tai Chi (Chen Taijiquan)
Whole body workouts through CALISTHENICS (bodyweight training) or with minimal equipment that focus on function and the kinetic chain to combine strength, endurance, and mobility in one session, yet gentle enough to your Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) that it leaves you feeling energetic yet you are not sore. With this method, you can combine this workout with your favorite sport/activity. This gives you the opportunity to have a daily routine and be consistent with your fitness. In turn, this gives you a higher training volume which will quickly improve your exercise technique and form. As for duration, you can have a full body workout for as little as 20 minutes, with the remaining 10 minutes used for extra stretching and cooling down. This teaches you a pragmatic approach to fitness training that doesn't take too much of your time. An additional 30 minutes can be added for a Tai Chi class. Tai Chi training helps you develop your kinetic chain (whole body integration in movement) which is great in building your balance and coordination. Through this process, you also learn to relax which makes you more efficient in your movement. Learning curve starts with simple and easy to learn Qigong movement and breathing. You have the option of having a hybrid class of calisthenics and Tai Chi or just focus on either. Modifications of movements are provided to children and seniors.
