About Me

I like to say that I started teaching when I was six years old. My first student was my older brother, who, due to his disability, could not read or write. How was he going to get married if he couldn't count to ten or write his name?
I studied psychology at the University of Dijon because I thought I would find answers to my questions there. After my license, I left France to live in Greece and England. I settled permanently in the south of England in 1998. After teaching French and European studies in a high school, I decided to set up my own language school.
For me, a good teacher is a teacher who is also a learner. It is by taking lessons yourself that you can have the empathy necessary to understand the difficulties encountered by your students. Over the past 20 years I have taken an A level Italian and am taking advanced level Greek courses.
Many of my students have also become my friends. I am always in contact with young French or English students who are now at university or in the world of work.
I am avid reader of French and foreign literature and I read in English, Italian and Greek. In 2008, the BBC came to film me while I was offering “Tune in to French sessions” to passengers on the Newhaven-Dieppe ferry. In 2013, I launched a French Film Club which worked very well until the arrival of the pandemic. I am also at the origin of the twinning between Alfriston in East Sussex and Veules les Roses in Normandy.
