I am passionate about teaching guitar! Over the last 10 years I have been teaching students from ages 7-70 from complete beginners to advanced players with one thing in common - their wish to play guitar more comfortably and have fun while doing it! I am a classical guitarist with a background in pedagogy, psychology and physiotherapy, my approach - methodical. While working on the things you want to improve and learn I will also help you develop a deep understanding of the theory and principles that music is built upon. Our lessons will be exploratory and imaginative whilst also underpinned by technical knowledge so that you can enjoy playing comfortably and without pain. My aim is to get you to where you want to be playing guitar, whether that be for friends at New Year or on the stage at Carnegie Hall!

Graduated in Music - Having studied piano (classical) at the University of Évora (Portugal), Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe (Germany) and at the Aquiles Delle Vigne International Music Academy. She is currently studying a Masters in Performance at LUCA School of Arts, Leuven, Belgium. I have a lot of experience in teaching piano and music theory in different musical styles and theoretical/musical training from children to adults, in official conservatories, music schools and private lessons, In my classes I try to share my musical knowledge, both practically and theoretically. The courses are aimed at those who want to have more direct contact with music, whether for the first time or not. I take great pleasure in teaching and I give great importance to each student. I like to choose repertoire that matches both student's musical tastes and technical work in need. I always try to encourage students and provide quality teaching. Guitar lessons for (absolute) beginners with a bit of theory, I have been playing at the rock school in Leuven for 2 years and am also in a band. We will learn the basic chords/riffs together...and based on your interests we will also learn songs. I don't have a lot of experience, but I can help you take your first steps in guitar.

Piano lessons adapted to your taste and level. You tell us what you expect from the lessons so that I can give you optimal piano lessons. For example: you want to learn to read and play piano pieces. I must also give you the relevant theory. It is your choice to study additional theory, but it is not necessary. My lessons are therefore efficiently oriented. As a student, you can ultimately choose which piano pieces we work on (it must first be approved by me), so that playing the piano remains fun and educational. I cover classical music, pop music, video games, movies, anime music, etc... so many genres! Another example: you want to make a piano cover of an existing piece (e.g. pop music or movie music). I will give you the theory of chords and reading staves. This way you can get started quickly. Together we will practice enough so that you understand everything well! We can also improvise together on your piano. Feel free to message us if you have any questions :) I have already given private lessons to adults, teenagers and children both online and in person. Both options work great! We do this online via Skype or another app if desired. Physically we do it in Leuven city centre, where there is a handy large indoor bicycle shed. Ideally I teach once a week, you then continue practicing on your piano at home towards the next lesson the following week. If you would like lessons every other week or lessons twice a week, that is also possible for me. Why choose to learn to play the piano? It has been scientifically proven that playing an instrument makes someone smarter (good brain training). You can show your piano skills to others, but you can also make yourself happy and reward through your piano. Private solfège/solfège lessons. All levels are welcome. Can be used as tutoring! Music theory lessons do not cover harmony theory in detail, but they do provide a general knowledge of music theory. The content of the lessons is flexible and depends on the wishes of the student!

I am an enthusiastic professional violinist and teacher. Being well classically trained, I can help you build a solid violin technique and prepare you for giving your best during important music occasions such as exams, auditions, concerts etc. Also, being member of pop - oriental bands with concerts around Belgium, France and Greece, having played with several classical and contemporary music ensembles and orchestras, as well as coming from a family of musicians, my lessons are ideal for students who want to learn to be at ease when they eventually make music with others. :) All pieces can be taught either by ear, music scores or BOTH!! Teaching you basic and/or more advanced music theory to facilitate your violin learning if you don't know yet how to read and write music, can be easily done! My personal experience with music psychology and body movement techniques for musicians have enriched my knowledge and teaching skills. Extra attention is given during the lessons to not only help you build a strong and steadfast technique and develop your music ear, but also to acquire a confident presence and attitude for when you play for others! All is being done with gentle care towards your body's physiology and feelings, and consideration of your learning style. :)) Finally, I'm at your disposal in between the lessons, answering to any questions you might have and offering you support and guidance with your new insights! :D

The flute it’s a quite complex instrument, where the challenge is to find the balance between all the parameter, such as posture(in order to learn how to play fast passage), lips and everything concerning breathing technique(in order to get the best clear and powerful sound). It’ my job to guide the student in order to let him/her find that stability in order to get best results possible.

I've been playing the piano since I was 10. But at the music academy I learned piano in a very scholastic way. We always had to learn scores, which you spend a lot of time on, and once you could do it perfectly, you already had to switch to another piece. I got tired of this and started improvising. I now make my own songs and I prefer to play the piano more than ever before. I would like to share this with other people as well. I do this in combination with solfège, so that everyone has the basics. The lessons consist of 70-80% solfège and piano pieces (I work with piano books) and then we conclude with 20-30% improvisation. Improvisation is experienced by all my students as the most enjoyable part of the lesson.

A native of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Olivé began his piano studies under the guidance of Professor Marcilda Clis. Upon entering UNIRIO, he started taking lessons with the pianist and composer Claudio Dauelsberg. He holds a degree in piano from the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe in Germany, where he was a student of Professor Kaya Han. He spent 2 years in Portugal, where he taught at the Academia de Música de Almada. He also received guidance from Professor and pianist Manuel Araújo of the Academia Internacional de Música Aquilles Delle Vigne in Coimbra. Currently, he is pursuing a Master's degree in Piano Performance at LUCA School of Arts in Belgium, with the renowned pianist Sylvia Thereza as his teacher. He has been awarded in national and international competitions, such as the VII Sardoal Young Talent Award (2nd Prize - ex-aequo in the Piano Solo category; 2nd Prize and Best Portuguese Duo in the Piano Duo category), the Prof. Dichler-Competition 2022 in Vienna (2nd Prize - ex aequo in the Piano Duo category), the I National Piano Competition of the Villa-Lobos Music School (Honorable Mention) in Rio de Janeiro, and the XXVI Souza Lima Piano Competition (Honorable Mention) in São Paulo. His classes are intended for anyone who wants to start learning music theory and piano or those who already have basic or advanced knowledge. From Classical to Popular music, his teaching method adapts to the goals and individual desires of the student. During the classes, music theory is taught either concurrently or separately from practice, and the repertoire to be played is chosen collaboratively with the student. Felipe has years of experience as a concert pianist and teacher in academies and music schools. He seeks the most suitable approach for each student, respecting their learning pace, helping overcome difficulties, and exploring their strengths, always encouraging progress.
