My name is Mary, I'm originally from Italy and living in The Netherlands since 2015.
My background is mixed: my mother is from Zimbabwe whereas my father is Italian.
I grew up bilingual in Italy and offer Italian and English lessons in Hilversum and online, whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills.
I have a background in teaching English to Italians, and would like to expand my experience by teaching Italian.
What's important for me is you. That you get the most from our lessons and are happy.

Who? I am a twenty-eight-year-old French and U.S. Anthropology student. I am trained in FLE (French as a Second Language) and have worked for the National French Education Ministry as a Middle School Teacher on the beautiful island of Mayotte. Following that exotic experience, I decided to change course and study Anthropology all the while teaching French as a Second Language on a freelance basis. I moved to the Netherlands just recently and have decided to continue practicing as a French tutor. I have also tutored English classes in France for five years.

What? I offer French or FLE (French as a Second Language) courses based on multiple sources and I regularly renew them because it is important to be in adequacy with today's society. As I just started learning Dutch, I teach in English all the while aiming for 90% French during the class.

Where? Normally I go to the learner's home. For the moment, online courses are also popular.

I hold a PhD degree in French Literature from Sorbonne University and I've been teaching French and English since 2013. During my class, you will learn how to communicate effectively - and in order to speak, you'll need to practice! I have a passion for French culture, literature, music, film and theatre, and I believe that it's through culture and experiencing the language directly in everyday life that you really immerse yourself in a language. I train also for exams and DELF/DALF. Apart from this, I work as a tour guide specialised in French medieval architecture and a week-end trip to Paris (sightseeing included!) can be planned during the course to immerse in French language, cinema, food and beautiful Parisian museums.

Practicing French in French boulangeries, restaurants and bookshops in Amsterdam can be planned as well. If you're interested in more than practicing speaking and pronunciation skills, we can alternate the grammar/writing classes (held at home) and conversation classes (held anywhere!). I am perfectly bilingual Italian and French so I can give lessons for all levels. I am available for face-to-face (in Amsterdam) or remote lessons depending on your preference. The course develops according to the level and the needs (school studies in college or high school, work, etc.). For students, courses can be help with homework, remedial work, school monitoring. For adults rather exchanges and conversation. In relation to economics, I took the Economic and Social Science (SES) specialty in high school (18/20 at the baccalaureate) so I am able to give support courses for this subject to middle school students.

I graduated from a linguistic high school in 2019, studying English, French, and Spanish as subjects of focus. I also got an ESABAC degree (French diploma).
