About Me
I am an experienced piano professor, teaching since 1997. Also, I am the author of 3 books on the piano pedagogy (a beginner piano method, a teacher's guide for group piano to preschools, and a Christmas piano music book)..
I had the luck, as a student, to be guided by excellent Russian piano teachers, and I have seen how effective is the Russian piano school on every child's musical development and technique. I teach these fundamental principles, and I am proud of all my students' progress.
I love music and playing piano!
I love children and my moto is "Every child is an artist, unless he's/she's told he's/she's not an artist" - I am also a lucky mom of 3 daughters!
I love animals and our planet!
I love cooking, dancing, dreaming big and sharing my knowledge 🥰
Education
Athenaeum International Cultural Centre (class Marianna Aivazova ) "Piano Diploma"Schola Cantorum Paris (class Agathe Leimoni) “Diplôme Supérieur d' Enseignement de Piano”
Masterclasses with Sontraud Speidel, Paul Badura-Skoda, Aquiles Delle Vigne, Yuri Bogdanov, Sergei Senkov, Claudio Constantini, Rafael Salinas, Marina Pliassova, Borislava Taneva, Lilia Boyadjieva and others.
Experience / Qualifications
I have performed for several years, in solo piano concerts, as member of a piano duo, and with orchestra in Athens, Greece and Poros island.Since 1997 I have mostly worked with younger students and the first six years of piano repertoire. I believe these years are the most significant for a students' musical development.
The musical and technical skills I give to my students and the high level of knowledge allow them to participate and win prizes in formal piano concerts and competitions.
Since the pandemic I began teaching online and I believe that if both the teacher and the student have the appropriate equipment, the music lesson can be very efficient and offers both to them the chance to connect and work together.
For the first few years (depending of the student's age, skills and devotion) I teach through the Russian piano method books.

Très bien, j'ai apprécié ma première leçon et le contact. Maria a pris le temps et m'a appris comment "sentir" le piano avec le poids du corps et donner du matériel pour m'exercer, je recommande !
This was the first lesson between Maria and my 6 years old son. My feedback is positive. She has a very interesting and pleasant first approach. I highly recommend her.
Wonderful lesson. Very responsive, experienced, client-oriented teacher who cares about your learning experience and seeks to maximise the rate of progress. Very pleased.
Maria is a great teacher for my 10yo. We have had 15 sessions with Maria so far. She has great patience and passion in teaching kids. Maria sends out post-lesson videos to help my girl with her practices. This is very helpful. Maria is always very encouraging and my kid love learning with her.
Maria is the best teacher someone could ask for! As a beginner, I have only positive things to share; Maria always takes the time to explain everything in a way that is easy to follow, even though you have no clue about music. She even puts a lot of effort outside of the scheduled lessons by sharing videos of the teaching material she had taught you and sending you a lot of theory exercises to practice. But the most important thing to me is that Maria is always available to answer any questions you may have!
I would definitely recommend Maria for piano lessons whether you are a beginner or an advanced student!

Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any level
I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age.
I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

LEARN TO LISTEN TO SEVERAL NOTES/VOICES AT ONCE WITH A HIGHLY TRAINED AND EXPERIENCED FRENCH CONSERVATORY PROFESSOR
All levels (from beginners to graduate students and professionals).
All ages.
When? Please drop me a line and we will try and find a time for you.
Listening to several voices at once certainly is one of the most rewarding skills a musician can have, or can acquire. And, no, this is not only for those who are born with this gift.
If you listen to music without being able to discriminate precisely the different layers of sound, you already know music is beautiful. I was like that a couple years ago. (Well, provided my gray hair, it must actually be many years ago).
I can surely say that being able to listen to several voices at once has brought me much joy! Music became absolutely wonderful!
When you can precisely hear the various voices, then you become aware of all the notes that are played, as if some nice new lights were shed on the music.
Not only can you enjoy the music more, but as you play you can now shape all the voices in the best possible way, or if you play a duo for instance, you can be sensitive to the way the other musician plays, and musically respond to his or her interpretation.
As a musician, that is a life-changing experience, a “must!”
That can be learned, slowly but surely, with method. Now, when I say slowly but surely, I talk about mastery. But if we are talking about being able to listen for the first time to an additional note at once, this is usually quite quick (I'd say one lesson, two weeks at most).
So, what can we work on?
Harmonic intervals, recognizing chords, discriminating notes within a 4 voice chord or aggregate (i.e. hearing the precise voicing of an isolated chord), learning to listen to counterpoint precisely, you name it. That should be based on where you are at, and what you would like to achieve. Anything is possible. Let's talk about it and get started!
Although perhaps you want to know this first:
My students often tell me I am very patient.
I'd rather say I am understanding and straightforward.
Actually, please know that I am also demanding: While there is no difficulty that I cannot understand, (and I found it absolutely thrilling to find a solution when the student seems stuck) yet I am not interested in approximation.
If after reading this, you are still interested, please drop me a line!
I am here to share my passion with you!
Sincerely,
YOUR Prof.
PS: I use fixed DO solfège (French way), but if you don't that's okay!

Piano and Singing tutor with 5 years experience and professional education
From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons,
cultural studies.
During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant.
My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis).
So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.
