GCSE Maths tutoring from Grade 9 student, in person or online
Maths GCSE is an important subject, with many needing to retake the subject if they fail. I am currently studying A Level Maths myself, after having achieved a grade 9 (A*) at GCSE. I also have a lot of success in the UKMT Maths Challenges. I have achieved a Gold Award and best in school two years in a row (Junior Mathematical Challenge 2021, Intermediate Mathematical Challenge 2022) and have also qualified to the Kangaroo challenge both those years. In 2022, I achieved merit in this too. I also have a level 3 algebra award qualification, which is at a similar level to AS. Therefore, I am experienced in maths and am happy to help anyone at any grade with their GCSE maths.

Learn the rules of Exponents/Indices and explore how roots and exponents relate.
Index (indices) in Maths is the power or exponent which is raised to a number or a variable. For example, in number 2^4, 4 is the index of 2 and 2 is referred to as the base. The plural form of index is indices. Indices are used to display how many times a number has been multiplied by itself. They can also be used to represent roots and fractions, such as the square root. In this lesson, you will learn the rules/laws of indices and use the rules to manipulate certain expressions into equivalent expressions. Additionally, roots and exponents are closely linked, because roots represent a logical inverse of exponents. You will also learn more about roots.
