Hello everybody! Welcome to my profile! Have you always wanted to know more about rhythm, percussion and drums? Then you are in the right place! :) My name is Giovanni Molinari, I'm an italian percussionist currently living in The Netherlands and studying at Codarts music school in Rotterdam. Latin music is the field I explored and studied the most, especially music coming from Cuba and Brazil: two different and at the same time similar worlds that boast an incredible and extremely interesting music culture.  Talking about Cuban music, my main instruments are congas, bongos and timbales, together with all small percussion (guiro, maracas, clave, shekere). I will guide you through the different music styles that developed in this wonderful island during the past 200 years, such as salsa, son, rumba, cha-cha-cha, mambo, songo among many others. About the Brazilian side, I can teach you how to learn to play the pandeiro, in all its different styles and rhythms, together with the timbau, the repique, the dobras, the surdo and many other instruments that belong to this amazing tradition. In my musical career, I also got to play and studied other types of percussion that belong to other traditions. To name one, the cajon, originally coming from Perù and later incorporated in spanish flamenco, is another fascinating instrument, and incredibly versatile when it comes to play many styles of music, especially western pop and funk music: it can really function as a substitute for the drums! Talking about drums, I will be happy to guide you through the study of this marvelous instrument as well, starting from the basic techniques until the study of all the rhythmic possibilities that this instrument gives. If you're interested, don't esitate to contact me! (more info below :) )

Roy - Melle$27
Trusted teacher: hey! Drum Roy here. I would like to introduce myself I like to share my passion for percussion to anyone who also has the itch to get started with percussion. Percussion is a collective name for musical instruments such as a drum set, xylophone, marimba, vibraphone, timpani, glockenspiel... But also percussion instruments such as bongos, congas, triangle, cowbell, woodblock, cymbals, tambourine, bass drum, snare drum... You play percussion with a lot of feeling and a striking technique. At a young age I started taking music lessons at the Art Academy. After a first year of solfège I got the itch to take percussion. I was immediately taken aback! Ke Boom Tsss! 😀 After completing primary and secondary education at the Art Academy, I took private drum lessons to specialize even more. Besides percussion, I also play guitar and piano. Do you also feel itchy? Please don't hesitate to contact me. 👉 Tailor-made drum lessons for young and old 👈 There is no age limit for learning an instrument. Young or old, anyone who is eager to learn an instrument will also be able to do it. If you have knowledge of solfège or of another instrument, this is included. But that is certainly not a must. You don't need any knowledge of music to learn drums. Just a lot of sense and passion! Are you a novice? Then we start the lessons at your pace. You indicate which songs you like to hear and which you want to play. We build that together by starting with the basic techniques, a bit of theory, rhythm exercises and then moving on to grooves and fils. From the first lesson you can already play simple music tracks. Do you already have some drumming experience? Then together we look at where there is still progress and where you want to go. Do you prefer funk or blues music or another genre? We adapt the lessons to your wishes. Do you feel itchy? Then don't hesitate and start with drum lessons. 👉 Djembe is a real emotional instrument 👈 Djembe is a really cool instrument that you play with a lot of feeling. There are many sounds in there to discover. When you play djembe in a band, it gives a certain groove to the song. You add something extra and help determine the rhythm of the song. Cool African rhythms or something funky? Then everything is possible. I teach you how to play this instrument, with the right hand techniques, where the sounds are and how you are an extra dimension for the band. Do you want to learn djembe? Then don't hesitate and contact me. Together we will create a plan tailored to your needs. 👉 Percussion is rhythm 👈 If you have a sense of rhythm, then percussion is definitely for you. But even if you think you don't have a sense of rhythm, I can make sure, by using certain techniques, that you can still keep your beat. During an art and creative camp I give percussion workshops to young people aged 8 to 12 years. The aim is to introduce the young people to rhythmic instruments. I teach them to listen to a song to find out where the percussion instruments are. I teach them percussion techniques and how they conjure the sounds out of an instrument. But the most important thing is of course that the young people have fun playing a djembe, cymbal, boomwhackers, drum, cajon, ... Percussion is the collective name for all percussion instruments in a band or orchestra. These instruments are mainly accompaniment instruments. It gives rhythm to the song. Do you also feel itchy? Then don't hesitate to contact me. Regards, DrumRoy

I am a classical percussionist and a drummer, with many years of teaching and playing experience. I completed a Bachelor and a Master course in classical percussion in Italy, now I am studying a Master in Jazz & Pop drums at the HKU in Utrecht. I have an excellent knowledge of musical theory due to my studies and I love teaching because sharing my passion with others is important to me. I have experience teaching many students, between the ages of 5 and 50, since I was 18. I taught in two music schools, led projects in kindergartens and gave percussion instrument lessons in high schools. I trained students as percussionists in two school orchestras. Additionally, I used to write and produce learning materials with my students, to encourage accessible learning. My main teaching objective is to help students to find their personal way of playing and studying, without forgetting the most important thing; having fun. I understand that music should be fun, and those students not having fun will not get the best results. I usually start my lesson with the basics such as reading music, holding sticks and posture. I evaluate the student’s strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to reflect and evoke healthy self-criticism, to help them improve with a positive attitude.  I always try to inspire my students, and at the same time I am inspired by them, as by playing music together we can learn a lot from each other. Whilst my students have learned a lot from me, likewise, I have learned a lot from my students and this has been very valuable to my development.  I believe I would be an asset to you, because I am a flexible, open minded, experienced teacher.
