Most lessons will start with a discussion before jumping into practice questions and worked examples in a calmer environment than the classroom. We will discuss what area(s) of Mathematics the student is struggling with, I will then present diagnostic questions to identify the root cause of the confusion before working from basics to make sure the student understands what the gap in their knowledge is and how to best reinforce the gap in their learning. For more confident students one of the best ways to prepare them for exams is working through exam-style questions and reviewing common areas where marks are lost along with best practices to minimise wasted time during the tests.
