I teach Finnish for children and adults. I'm a native Finnish and English speaker. I also know the basics of Dutch and Italian. I myself study at Utrecht University. I have a great deal of experience with children of all ages from coaching and being an au pair. I have also previously taught English for adults with great results! I can also do lessons in Zoom/Skype/Teams.

In my classes, we begin with a limited but practical pool of vocabulary and structures. We use the same material in different sentences and work with changes such as affirmative and negative forms, singular and plural, tenses and cases. We then transfer these structures into speaking and real-life situations. I mainly use the Suomen Mestari 1–4 series and Pirkko Leino’s Suomen kielioppi as reference materials, and I also prepare my own exercises and materials for each student.

I'm a teacher with over 12 years of teaching experience. During my career, I've helped hundreds of students become fluent in Finnish. Preparation for professional purposes, YKI, as well as oral fluency are my specialties. Nowadays, I teach communications to native Finnish speakers at a university, while being a foreigner myself. And I know exactly how to get your Finnish to the proper level too. We are not going to waste your time on things you don't need. Instead, we will be practicing your speech and language comprehension skills. Alongside, I will make sure you're familiar with the main grammatical concepts. This will make you much more confident when speaking Finnish. Ready to boost your Finnish to the next level? Let's get in touch!
