Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing.
We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis.
We will focus on the sounds and how to produce them.
In the second part of the lesson, we will apply all of the above to the singing!

My name is Matteo Schifanoia, I am a songwriter, pop and jazz singer, and vocal coach with 20 years of experience in music. I offer singing lessons for all levels. My teaching method is the result of the synthesis of my experience as a singer and the many and diverse study paths followed. My classes are different depending on your level and age.

With children from 7 to 12, we start by doing easy vocalization and start training the ear with intonation, we then have fun singing your favorite songs.

With teenagers, I also start with some vocalization, a little more elaborate. Depending on the student's capabilities, we start establishing a comfortable range for them and then proceed to singing.

For my older students ideally, I divide our lesson into 2 sections. We work on respiration and how the diaphragm works. We do scales and arpeggios and work on intonation. We then proceed to singing and putting into practice our technique. Some students might need more technique before they actually sing, I like to take things slowly and make sure the student feels confident and comfortable singing.

In our Oud class, I will guide you through everything from basic to advanced techniques. We will cover playing for all levels, correct left-hand use, synchronizing with the right hand, handling the pick, tuning the Oud, and effectively using a tuner and metronome. In the remaining time, we will dive into reading musical notes, starting with basic Solfege and progressing to advanced and oriental Solfege, including dictation exercises.
