Beginner Watercolor Workshop - Get real-time feedback and instruction!
No experience required!!
Hello! My name is Makenna, and I have been making art and painting for almost 10 years. I started very young, and believe that all students have infinite potential to learn an art form, no matter what access they have to materials. Whatever materials you have available, will be what I use! I'm very passionate about demonstrating that its not the materials that matter, it's the artist's passion. I'm very excited to work with you!
In this workshop, I can show you the basics of watercolor painting; how to mix colors, how to layer colors, how to use a reference. I can help you work towards completing a finished piece to be proud of. Be prepared to possibly get messy and have fun!
If you decide we're a good match, and want to continue working with me, we will expand on these concepts and work on curating a list of goals you'd like to achieve. By the end of our time together, however many sessions that may be (I can work with you to create a plan based on a desired amount of sessions), I hope to have helped you achieve all of your goals in watercolors and improve your confidence within the medium!
- Watercolors (We will make whatever you have work!)
- At least one brush
- Paper
- Two containers to hold water
- Something to clean your brushes
- Ex. towel, rag, old t-shirt (again, we will make it work!)
- If able, something to record yourself painting so I can provide feedback during the class!
Extra (NOT required, just nice to have!):
- A pencil and eraser
- Sharpies or water-proof pens (look for pens that are not "water-based")
- Colored Pencils
(P.s. Coming into the the class with an idea of what you want to paint- preferably a picture you want to recreate -will help us get started quicker! That being said, I am happy to help you brainstorm and provide feedback!)

About Me
Hello! I am Makenna, a 20 y.o. artist who is deeply passionate about spreading the gift of creativity. I am currently enrolled at NAU for my Bachelors in Art Education, and excited to make headway into the teacher space!I have been a creative all of my life, creating paintings and art ever since I was a little girl. Art has always been an escape for me: a way for me see the world from a different lens. All art is so extremely valuable to us as people, especially when we're young. I'm excited at the opportunity to work with you/your child, and to meet you/them wherever they're at!
I have almost 2 years' experience in childcare; working with preschoolers (ages 1-5) at Abundant Life Preschool and working with elementary school kids (ages 5-13) at FACTS. Working with all age groups is something I aspire to do, as my next endeavor is to work at a middle school or high school age group. Eventually, I want to work my way up to teaching college-level courses!
No matter if you're interested in working with me on your or your child's art skills, or simply browsing my page, I appreciate you taking the time to read what I'm all about. Let's get messy and make something fun!

CINEMA, ACTING, IMPROVISATION WORKSHOPS - - -
These sessions allow the development of skills and knowledge of the trade, with the game facing the camera, familiarization with the audiovisual environment and the camera tool, in the art of acting.
Your inventiveness and your uniqueness being at the center of your training, it is a question of dwelling on the objective criteria, such as the voice, the use of the body, the relationship with the partner, the capacity to occupy the space. But it is also the singularity and the commitment that are decisive.
The objective of this training is to be able to:
- Analyze and dissect a text
- Create, develop and embody a character
- Understand the artistic and technical writings of a film or a play
- Create, cultivate and develop one's artistic identity and singularity
(...)
Through simulations and role-playing, the association between theory and practice makes it possible to achieve its objectives.
PLACES :
- Locations: Geneva - Lausanne - Friborg - Neuchâtel - Montreux - Basel - Sion - Sierre - Morges - Bienne. But currently and until further notice, only by videoconference in accordance with national recommendations on Covid.
These sessions, for which you have asked me, also seem to be perfectly unanimous since they arouse a certain enthusiasm (and a certain enthusiasm). Indeed, they have the advantage of face-to-face sessions (ex: quality of the interaction), without its disadvantages (ex: loss of travel time) with additional advantages (ex: the entire session transcribed in writing on the chat). That is why, at your request, I continue to offer this option.
- As other people do regularly, you can also please your loved ones by offering gift vouchers available all year round.

Interdisciplinary Arts & Thinking - The Visionary Freedom Lab
My name is Anita, and I am an interdisciplinary neurodivergent artist.
I combine traditional and unconventional teaching methods with an innovative approach, adapted to the fast-paced era we live in, where attention spans can be short. My teaching integrates principles of psychology to better understand each student’s unique needs and aspirations.
My goal is to nurture visionary children who have strong foundational values and a humble sense of self. I believe that true artistic mastery comes from human excellence. Also, in this way, students develop true self-confidence by evaluating their success based on personal progress rather than comparing themselves to others.
This course is especially recommended for neurodivergent children (with Autism Level 1 - Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, OCD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Hypersensitivity, and Anxiety) with multiple interests who struggle to choose, focus on, and manage various subjects. It helps develop both technique and discipline, enabling them to navigate multiple creative fields—essentially putting their eggs in several baskets while honing the skills necessary for diverse career opportunities in an uncertain job market.
The program encourages a generalist mindset, promoting versatility without compromising creative integrity. Students will learn to refine their Zoom In/Zoom Out perspective, gaining the ability to see both the bigger picture and the finer details of any subject. The program's structure guides the individuals through three essential phases:
Exploration Phase–Presentations, visual games, and foundational lessons introduce students to various disciplines, helping them discover their interests.
Development Phase–They start defining their creative goals, practicing their skills, and trying out various artistic approaches.
Mastery Phase - With a clear direction, students focus on long-term goals, whether as brand-focused professionals, university students, or future educators.
Disciplines covered include architecture, painting, illustration, concept design (especially for gaming), traditional animation, digital art, children's book illustration, film, creative writing, and music (the art of songwriting).
A Purposeful, Transparent Approach
I work closely with each student, providing honest yet supportive evaluations to help identify their strengths. My goal is to guide serious and passionate learners and not to mislead families into unnecessary expenses. I strive to be straightforward in a respectful and encouraging manner, communicating if a child may not be suited for this path.
A Valuable Investment in Thinking & Creativity
Even if a student ultimately chooses a non-artistic career, this course fosters critical and creative thinking, which are essential skills for any field. The knowledge gained here is never wasted; it’s an investment in adaptability, innovation, and problem-solving abilities that transcend the arts.

MENTORING IN ARTS : Discover how to say something through your artistic work.
I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen.
I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist.
I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns.
In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on.
You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns.
Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

Pulling the Original Character from your Headspace
I am an aspiring comic book designer who has spent my entire life practice and learning. As I've grown, there are three core artistic languages that have shaped how I create:
- Shape Language (body shape, clothing shape, shape contrast)
- Color Language (relearning color, color combination, textures in colors)
- Expression (clothing choices, facial movements, positioning)
I have created a 5-week workshop for each of these core artistic values. You may find that you especially want to focus on one artistic value, or are starting with a blank page and want all three.
My Services:
1-off character consultation: We will discuss your pre-existing character and I will provide constructive criticism about it. We work together to brainstorm ideas and optionally, speak beyond it's visual design and into the setting they live in. Intended to be a one off or occasional feedback. ($40)
5-week workshop: Select one of the three workshops listed above. I recommend doing them in the order provided. ($200 for 5)
10-week workshop: Select two of the three workshops listed above at a decreased rate. ($350 for 10)
Painting Tutor: Discover and develop your artistic language
I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London.
Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don’t always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you!
Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs.
The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language.
(Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it. But also be mindful that as we grow our interests can change and as they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.)
Have questions? Don’t hesitate to message me! I can tailor a class to your needs :)
Drawing lessons and courses in various creative media
I offer creative lessons tailored to your needs and preferences. These can cover drawing and painting techniques, but also other materials like clay or digital tools (think digital art on the iPad). Together, we'll explore your current level, what skills you'd like to learn, and establish a goal to guide the lesson content. Especially if you're saying, "Yes, but I'm not really that creative," or "Yes, but I'm not very good at drawing," I'd love to take on the challenge with you!
