Selftape workshop (online) - "The Actor’s Playhouse Antwerp" (TAPA)

In de afgelopen jaren is het auditieproces voor acteurs via zelf in te zenden tapes snel uitgegroeid tot de voorkeursmethode van casting directors. 90% van alle 1e ronde audities voor film, theater en televisie worden nu gehouden self-tapes. Dit vereist van acteurs dat zij de geschikte technische vaardigheden ontwikkelen om een succesvolle self-tape auditie te doen.

Het voordeel is dat je vandaag de dag in het comfort van je eigen woonst audities kan filmen. je kan zoveel probeersels maken als je wilt tot je de ideale tape hebt.
Daarnaast moet je geen tijd meer vrijmaken om auditie te doen, en bespaar je heel wat verplaatsingskosten.

De workshop bestaat uit 6 werkweken. Na deze sessies zal de acteur 6 scènes uit 1 film of toneelstuk hebben gespeeld – waarvan 2 takes per scène.
Kortom, je gaat in totaal zelf 12 self-tapes gecreëerd hebben.

In deze workshop zal je meegevoerd worden op een ontdekkingstocht naar de praktische en artistieke vereisten voor het maken van effectieve self-tapes.

De sessies omvatten zowel praktische “do’s and don’ts”, als grondige en creatieve scriptanalyse.

Acteerlessen in Antwerpen. Voor acteurs, door een acteur.
Ik geef zowel workshops op locatie in het jongerencentrum Kavka, maar ik geef ook self-tape workshops die volledig digitaal plaatsvinden.

Tijdens deze workshops maak je kennis met de acteertechnieken Meisner en Chubbuck. Dit zijn technieken die worden gebruikt door acteurs zoals Robert De Niro, Charlize Theron, Christoph Waltz, Chadwick Boseman, Halle Berry etc.

De lessen helpen acteurs fysieke en emotionele barrières te identificeren en te overwinnen. TAPA in samenwerking met Kavka biedt hierbij een ruimte aan waar we in een veilige en taboeloze omgeving kunnen werken.

TAPA’s missie met deze workshops is om acteurs hun unieke talenten en persoonlijkheden te laten gebruiken om de kracht te vinden om voor iets te vechten.
Met andere woorden: mensen zijn aangetrokken tot hoop en putten inspiratie uit de manier hoe anderen grote obstakels overwinnen om hun levensdoel te bereiken. Elk personage heeft zo zijn obstakels (fysiek, emotioneel of psychologisch) en elke scène is een ontdekkingsreis in het zoeken naar de kracht van het niet opgeven.

My methodology is mostly CVT (complete vocal technique), understand the voice, understand what to do with it without too many imaginations and sensations but with practical examples that find an immediate realization, understand how the diaphragm works and find the right support, learn the technique to get your muscles used to it and then not having to think and sing freely!

As for interpretation, I base myself on the MTP (Musical Theater Performance) technique generally used on Broadway and London: to be very specific and to tell a story, a moment, a state, a character while singing! I am a singer who graduated from the SDM in Milan, I give technical lessons to be able to sing more simply without too many constraints, help to open the sound and be confident with it: be more aware of your voice, your instrument and what you can do with it! For those who want, we can also do a job on the lyrics for a good interpretation (MTP: Musical theater performance) since I am also an actor. I’m constantly on stage between Italy, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland with many musicals, from Hair to Dirty Dancing, from Sister Act to Peter Pan, events with exponents such as Andrea Bocelli and Edoardo Bennato.

I'm a professional actor, trained at Cygnet Theatre in Exeter, now living in London. I have extensive experience performing in immersive theatre - communicating, catching and holding the attention of a wide variety of people.

I also have experience in storytelling, working with and teaching children of all ages, as well as writing and producing theatre.

Starting drama classes as a teenager was one of the most important things I ever did. It help me build confidence, develop empathy and ground me as the person I am today.

I love performing and creating experiences for my audience - watching their faces as they're surprised, entertained or disgusted by the stories I tell.

I am a trained actor from one of the UK's best drama schools and I have a background in publicity and politics: I worked as a publicist and media trainer for politicians for 7 years (my previous employers include Martin Schulz, president of the European Parliament, the Austrian Liberal Party NEOS and Sadiq Khan, mayor of London), accompanying them to their TV and media appearances and preparing them for interviews and TV debates.

As an actor, my credits include several feature films and a number of theatre plays, including "Richard II", "A Winter's Tale" and "Waiting for Godot". I am bilingual in English and German and am happy to work in both languages.
