Polyglot specialist with 9 years of experience. German in speed mode. Level A1 to C2. No school teaching.
I offer you a German course that is not like the others. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches:
If you travel back and forth by train every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options:
1) Memorise the timetable.
2) Realise that the train comes every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m.
In school pedagogy, in textbooks and in normal lessons, the first approach is used - in the course I am offering you, it is the second approach because it is more economical and faster.
My offer is aimed at both pupils and adults who want to learn the German language without time-consuming detours through the madness of fruitless school methods.
Learning is easy, but unlearning things that have become bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, with my customised lessons you will greatly accelerate the learning process while having a positive attitude.
I offer German lessons for individuals or groups (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive science and historical linguistics in particular. My modular programme can be adapted on a case-by-case basis. The converging point of these modules is your independence in spontaneous conversations in real life.
What will not be covered in the course:
learning lists of verbs;
learning lists of nouns with articles;
learning words with their translations;
flashcards;
doing school exercises;
following the syllabus of a booklet;
imposing the English grammar on the German language.
What is particularly important to me:
to motivate my student and to give him a learning rhythm;
to encourage his creativity;
to befriend him with the language;
the letters and their sounds;
to strengthen the memory by training the phonological loop;
to teach blueprints instead of memorising sentences;
to explain how the language works in order to make my student independent as quickly as possible;
to eliminate common preconceptions, such as that 'der' would mean masculine and 'die' feminine, that the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, that verbs would be irregular, that declension would be random and therefore would have to be learnt with each verb...;
to put practice at the centre and only deal with grammar where necessary.
A first lesson will give you a sound idea of my pedagogy.

About Me
Translated by Google. Click to view original.
I am a native German speaker who spends most of my time abroad. In different universities I studied chemistry, industrial design, applied arts, service design and philosophy but in the end I came to the conclusion that I was much more interested in the technical or poetic vocabulary and the idioms that I managed to learn along the way that I was interested in what I was studying. Then, people became interested in my linguistic abilities and asked me to give them lessons or to translate texts for them. My advantage is that I know how to apply methods in philosophy as well as design thinking to learning a language. My classes provide a refreshing way of explaining and thinking about language.Education

My daughter started the German lessons with Kevin today and she is totally happy and satisfied. He was very clear on his explanations and concrete regarding the expectations. She will continue taking these lessons with Kevin.
Kevin offers a great approach to learning German. He starts off by helping you understand the essence of the language, and to learn in a way that is different from the text books. Kevin not only has a deep knowledge of German but also of language in general, and I came away from the lessons with a lot more understanding of how language works.
Kevin is a genius, who is capable of breaking down complex concepts into manageable, useful bits. If you think of a really large basket of vegetables and fruits. You know all the nutrients are good for you, but it would be tedious to try to eat it all raw.
But then, you get a juicer or blender or 'Nutribullet', and juice all those vegetables and fruits into a refreshing smoothie. You can then drink that smoothie as quickly or slowly as you wish, and still get all the necessary nutrients...
That's what Kevin can do - he juices all the complex intricacies of the German language into something you can understand and digest. His methods are unconventional, but very helpful in laying a proper foundation for a successful language learning journey. Very highly recommended.
Kevin’s way of teaching is excellent - 11 year old son said that his German lesson was “fun” - which is something I have never heard anyone say about a German lesson!
Thank you Kevin!!
Very good teacher, very reliable. In addition to good pedagogy, has a great mastery of how languages work.

Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart.
I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches:
If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options:
1) Learn the schedules by heart.
2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m.
In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster.
My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results.
Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind.
I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics.
What will not be the subject of the course:
learn lists of verbs;
learn lists of nouns with their gender;
learn words with their translations;
memory card game;
doing school exercises;
follow the program in a notebook;
impose French grammar on the Latin language.
What matters to me in particular:
motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm;
encourage creativity;
make friends with language;
letters and their sounds
strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop;
teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart;
explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible;
breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ;
place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice.
In the context of a first course, you can get a well-founded idea of my pedagogy.
I look forward to meeting you.

2. RUSSIAN for KIDS
This original course is designed to develop spoken Russian in bilingual children.
If your child was born abroad or moved to a non-Russian-speaking country at an early age, and you wish for them to speak, read, and write in Russian, and communicate freely with you, friends, and relatives — then this course is for you.
I use play-based methods for teaching writing, including for complete beginners.
To make the most of these lessons, I recommend that you provide your child with a writing/drawing tablet and a Russian-language keyboard (or Cyrillic stickers for the keys).
To develop both dialogue and monologue speech, we will work with materials from Russian folklore as well as everyday topics tailored to your child's interests and goals.
Each lesson is fully personalized, and the overall language development plan is carefully coordinated with you, the parent.
The course also involves a significant amount of independent work, both autonomously and with parental participation.
If you're looking for a meaningful and educational way for your child to spend the summer — this course is for you!

SCHOOL SUPPORT and REFRESHER: French/Maths/English etc. - Primary and Secondary SchoolsExperienced teacher provides academic support in a center for children with difficulties: concentration - understanding of instructions - assimilating information
I am an expert in pedagogy: I have professional training in knowledge transmission and professional training in communication.
This allows me to be a good listener, to understand children - and parents - and to know what to do and what to say to resolve the problems encountered.
After a few hours, an improvement is seen very quickly in the child:
- I listen and communicate with him at his level; I don't devalue him, on the contrary I encourage him.
- First step: unblocking, I make him understand what he has not assimilated.
- Second step: I make him do exercises that he will succeed in, starting with small, simple exercises, then I increase the difficulty gradually, until a satisfactory result is achieved.
The child starts to have self-confidence again... and the grades go up afterwards.
I can teach a complete methodology course on "Learning How to Learn" (which is not taught in schools). This course takes about 15 hours and students become self-sufficient.
I love communicating with children and helping them by sharing my knowledge: they are eager to learn... as long as we teach at their pace.
For little ones, we often work in a playful way, because LEARNING is an activity that must remain fun; they learn and remember much faster this way!
