Hi! I’m a PhD graduate in Materials Engineering with a strong foundation in maths, physics, and chemistry — subjects I’ve not only excelled in throughout my academic journey but have come to deeply enjoy. My research focused on semiconductors and materials science, and I bring that real-world scientific experience into every lesson I teach.

I offer tutoring for students across various school systems in the Netherlands — including Dutch (VMBO, HAVO, VWO), IB, British (IGCSE, A-Levels), and international programs — at both secondary and early university levels.

But here’s the thing: I don’t believe in just “getting through the syllabus.” I believe in making these subjects meaningful and intuitive. Whether it’s why equations really work, or how chemistry shapes the world around us, I focus on building real understanding — the kind that sticks and inspires.

I love teaching. I do this because it’s genuinely exciting to help students unlock difficult concepts and feel confident. You won’t just hear “this is how it’s done” — we’ll figure out why it works, where it applies in real life, and how to think like a problem-solver. I learn alongside you too — every student brings a new perspective, and that keeps things dynamic.

COURSE OFFER

Until Secondary 3, I offer tutoring in all subjects, most often in mathematics and English (and therefore also: French, history, geography, working method for science, Latin and Dutch).
From 4th to Rhéto, I still offer support in French, English, history and geography. Regardless of the student's year, I also help when preparing assignments, presentations and oral presentations. At the student's request, we can also take stock of the presence, diction and intonation for public speaking.

WHO AM I ?

My name is Valérie and I am 31 years old. Multi-graduate, I remain an eternal student. Even when I was little, still at the beginning of my primary schooling, I was looking for ways to learn more easily. This search for rapid and effective study continued with me during secondary school, to which was added the challenge of following them in English immersion. The personal learning methods that I had developed took on even more meaning when the thick university syllabi piled up on my desk. As with everyone, university learning remained a challenge to overcome. However, my methods have allowed me to mix quantities of subjects over the years: political science, sociology, intercultural management, anthropology, museology... Versatile and jack of all trades, I have also followed various personal development training courses. , or even in art therapy.

Today I am taking up a challenge that invites me to explore other ways of enriching myself and learning: I am starting my 3rd year at the Institute of Music and Pedagogy in Namur where I train in singing classic. These studies differ in many aspects from those I have accomplished so far. Therefore, they offer me the chance to seek to understand all the more how to adapt my methods to very diverse subjects.

In this busy course, I have been giving private lessons for over 10 years. I am enriched by contact with the students and it is a wonderful reward to see them develop their own methods and rediscover their abilities and skills.

Je suis diplômée en ingénieur. Avant d'entamer ces études, j'ai effectué des études pour être professeur de mathématique. Je propose une aide adaptée pour les étudiants étant en secondaire inférieur (première, deuxième et troisième année) et en primaire.
Je trouve important que l'élève prenne du plaisir à faire des mathématiques avec moi, et puis qui sait lui montrer à quel point celles-ci sont une partie de plaisir lorsqu'on visualise la matière d'une façon différente.

After an analysis of the situation and an assessment of the shortcomings established together with the student, the objectives to be achieved as well as the schedule are defined.
The coaching will be based on the teaching aids used in class. Each lesson will be preceded by a preparation based on documents and questions provided by the student.
