Trombone, Bass Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba Lessons. Music Theory.

I am a professional bass trombonist, I have been teaching for over 5 years from beginners to college level. I am from the United States where I have taught private and large group lessons. I have a Bachelors in Music Performance from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters from the Amsterdam Conservatorium. Through my experience I have found it crucial to start lessons with setting goals for each student; from simple short term goals to more advance long term goals. Just like any art that you wish to learn, practicing is a vital part to succeed, therefore starting with fundamentals and slowly advancing our techniques into repertoire is a very personal experience and we all learn at different rates. With one on one lessons each student has the convenience of setting personal goals, taking different routes to succeed, and overall enjoying the interaction between teacher and student.

I always like to begin lessons, normally lasting around 30 minutes. This will allow me to learn more about the student and their aspirations. Likewise the student will learn about my teaching methods and the structure of the lessons.

I'd be more than glad to share more information about my experience and educational background. I am fluent in English and Spanish.

Alberto
Trombone lessons in Utrecht with Alberto. One of the MOST VERSATILE instruments!
Playing the trombone is so exciting. Many genres to explore! Are you looking to start learning the trombone? Perhaps you already play for some years but want to improve your technique, breathing skills, or learn a new genre? I am Alberto, and I will help you achieve your musical goals with a tailor-made program. My approach is to find suitable music for your technical and expressive level and work specifically on the challenges that it represents. Music is for everyone! Kids and adults Perhaps you want to surprise your couple playing a bossa-nova. Or maybe you want to become the next solo trombone at the Concertgebouw Orchestra. Everyone has different goals when playing the trombone, it is my job to help you achieve them. If you don't have clear objectives yet, I will be guiding you and exploring the possibilities of trombone playing with you. Also, especially for kids, I can help you find a nice pBone. They are lightweight plastic trombones made with great quality and available in different colours! Good technique, and a lot of fun The most important lesson I have learned in my career is that making good music is only possible when you enjoy the process. Of course, good technical skills are crucial but studying exercises that you find boring is not the best way up to proficiency. Instead, finding your unique best approach to improve your skills will get you to the moon! For improving your tempo awareness, would you practice with a metronome or would you rather use a drumbeat sample? Your health is important! Body awareness and breathing techniques Not only wind players benefit from doing sport, acquiring good posture habits, and being aware of their breath. It helps everyone in every single aspect of their lives. A good breathing technique will let you play easily, run for a longer period of time, or sleep better at night. On the other hand, body posture awareness helps with productivity and saves money on the fysio. Life hacks that you cannot miss! Improvisation and open-mindedness That very feeling of creating art on the spot. Only a few experiences can relate to it. When we explore and create, our flow state gets triggered. We are fully immersed in the activity and the world surrounding us vanishes. If you like, we will go on a journey discovering new emotions, colours, sounds, harmonies, textures, styles, genres. And improvising on them. Let's get creative! Technology in music. Recording and producing Let's face it, we are in the 21st century and the possibilities of technology are endless in the audiovisual field. Recording for auditions, producing and releasing your first single, live looping, use of effects... You can learn all that with me. Are you curious? Book your lesson now! Ok but, how will my lessons look like? Breathing practice is one of the best ways to start warming up. It will take the first 5 minutes of your lesson and your body will be prepared to start playing. Then, we would go into working on your specific goals. Perhaps, we are practicing music that demands improvement on the higher register, maybe we are working out different scales for improvisation, or it might be the case that you want to discover a new genre and go deep into it. Reading music, ear training, phrasing, music theory, buzzing and embouchure position, articulations (legato, staccato, accents), dynamics... These are only an indication of what we might work on. The final minutes of your lesson will be the moment to relax. We can get creative, play some tunes together, improvise, or even talk about a specific topic like musicality, art, creativity, technique, theory, or the music industry for instance. Group lessons and ensembles Making music alone is fun, but playing with people brings it to the next level! If you like the idea, I will bring you together with other fellow students for technique workshops, jam sessions, duo with piano, or whatever other activity we might find interesting for you. When and where I offer flexibility in my schedule so your trombone lessons fit into your agenda. I can come to your place, or perhaps you prefer visiting my teaching room in Utrecht. I will have some coffee or tea waiting for you. Online trombone classes Online has become a new trend. I will help you set up your equipment and focus on what is important, music. Book a lesson now! Alberto, the eclectic brass player based in Utrecht I am a brass performer and teacher that has performed in classical and modern music ensembles for more than 15 years. During this time, I attended innumerable masterclasses and had great fun in various professional experiences such as performing at Tomorrowland, an avant-garde music festival in Malta, or the great symphonic masterpieces with symphonic orchestras in Spain and the Netherlands. I hold a bachelor's and a master's degree in music performance and a master's degree in music education during my official studies in Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. Nowadays, you can still find me teaching brass in the Utrecht area, composing and producing my own music at home, playing tuba with a symphonic orchestra, trombone in a reggae band, or improvising trumpet over a techno track.

Lior
Teacher for Brass instruments and the Recorder (Trumpet, Bariton, Euphonium, Recorder)
I offer professional Brass instruments (Bariton, Tenorhorn, Euphonium, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba) lessons for children from the age of four, for teenagers and adults. Whether beginner or advanced, that doesn't matter to me. Every motivated student of trumpets is welcome with me. I see it as my job to promote the particular character of each student. Playing the trumpet is an art that is difficult to explain. To become a good Brass player, you need more than “just” to master your instrument. Practice is a basic requirement. Young Brass students, children in particular need the support and support of their parents in the learning process, but the joy in the practice lessons should not be left behind. The focus of my lessons is on conveying musical understanding, sound technology and music literature from classical to klezmer to jazz. Elements such as transpose, orchestral replacement and sight reading are also taken into account in the lessons. I accompany the students as they prepare for competitions and auditions. I am happy to support you in improving your stage presence. I offer one-on-one and two-on-one classes. I teach the pocket trumpet for children. Furthermore, cornet, B and C trumpet (American and German) as well the Bariton, Tenorhorn, Euphonium, Tuba and Trombone.

SINGING CLASSES -Ancient Italian singing technique
Study SING!! ANCIENT ITALIAN SINGING TECHNIQUE!! bell singing style Legacy of teachers Manuel Vicente del Popolo García (Father), Gianni Sicardi and Susana Rossi. I teach the ancient Italian technique of singing. This works the elongation of the vocal cords in a healthy way, allowing from vocal freedom to achieve high and low frequencies very comfortably, dominating the chest voice, mix, head from the same position and developing the voice in a real way without exerting effort. . I also re-educate vocal cords with phonatory problems such as hoarseness, hiatus, nodules, fatigue (due to misuse of the voice) The technique is lyrical based but is also applied in popular styles. I have experience with children, adolescents and adults. I have a degree in music, lyrical singing, classical crossover, rock, soul, jazz, melodic, international, boleros, tangos, etc. I teach North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia. Oriented to singers, dancers, actors, speakers, and beginners. -Intended for all ages -Training for actors, singers and beginners -Coaching for auditions -Reeducation of voices with phonatory problems -Assorted styles. I teach both lyrical and popular. (Opera, Classical Crossover or Lyrical pop, canzonettas, Pop, Folk, Jazz, Soul, blues, Disco, Tango, Rock, etc). In Spanish, English, Italian, German. I give classes to Latin America, the United States, Europe, Asia, etc. It will work from the Ancient Italian Singing Technique, which Master Susana Rossi implemented in Argentina (Legacy of Manuel Vicente del Popolo García), through which the vocal cords are specifically trained. This training not only allows us to experience and connect with the position we had with our children's voice, but it is also possible to experience vocal freedom by releasing our maximum potential, without tensions or pressures, without imitations, and instead knowing our true color of voice and our own essence. Each voice is unique and unrepeatable, and in it is our imprint, our words, our own phrasing and our interior is reflected in it. This is why in addition to having a lyrical base, and being able to sing academic music and styles such as Classical Crossover, popular styles can also be approached, each one of them, in style, with the same technique.

Trumpet and Trombone lessons in The Hague (English or Dutch)
Trumpet Lessons The Hague - Delft Music is an important part of anyone’s life at any stage, which is why I believe teaching an instrument should be made available to all ages. Whether you have a young child who has developed an interest in the trumpet, or you are a working professional who just fancies a new hobby, or anyone in-between, I will develop lesson plans tailor made to you. Learn to improvise, develop your creativity or even play classical concerto’s! Classical - Jazz - Pop From the age of 7, I trained as a classical trumpet player, and then developed an interest in jazz at 13. I have a Bachelors in Classical music from London, and a Jazz Bachelors and Masters from the Netherlands. You can therefore feel confident that no matter what your interest may be (perhaps you don’t even know yourself yet), I can give you high quality training in your own interests. What to expect- Beginners For beginners, I take the time to let you get acquainted with the trumpet, learning repertoire, simple theory and technique, gradually moving to more advanced studies and incorporating jazz into the equation. Jazz Basics My jazz lessons start with the basics - learning simple music theory and harmony, the appropriate scales and getting a taste for the jazz language, common repertoire and the tradition. Challenge As you advance, we will explore more challenging rhythm, harmony and melody. Learning musical transcription (the process of writing down sounds on to paper) is crucial for development and also covered in lessons as well as mental-practise. For trumpet players the true key to success. Of course, my lessons are always friendly, relaxed and personal! Intermediate - Advanced My lessons consist of trumpet technique, i.e gaining the facility to be able to meet the demands of professional trumpet playing and the knowledge to deal with the daily struggles of what is essentially a very a demanding instrument. Breathing Embouchure This of course includes breathing, posture, embouchure, articulation, long tones, sound production, flexibility, finger dexterity, endurance, scales/arpeggios, sight-reading and ear training. It is important to develop everyday fundamental routines: keeping in shape, as well as devising formalised structures within trumpet practise. The often heard phrase goes - it's not how long you practise but how and what - which is incredibly relevant to trumpet players. Flexible and able to travel I live in the Hague and teach from my apartment, but am happy to travel to another location if it’s convenient! Home lessons in Delft may be arranged. Help buying the right Instrument! When starting out, choosing what trumpet to buy can be confusing and sometimes stressful! I am happy to give advice and accompany you to a music shop, to ensure the choice you make is right for you. To Conclude If any of the above sparks your interest for you or a family member, please do get in touch. About Laurie Born and raised in the colourful and vibrant seaside city of Brighton (UK), Laurie began playing the trumpet aged 7 and grew up playing in the local Brighton and London music scene. Jacob
Trombone Instrumental Tuition (Beginner to Advanced)
I am a Trombone, Music Theory, Music Technology, Studio Techniques and Composition tutor based in Bristol, UK, with over 10 years experience in performance and in the music industry. I love to teach and to see students excel to the best of their standards, and to reach their personal goals. Whether you are a beginner or looking to take your practice to a higher level, I can tailor my teaching to give a personalised experience for all age groups, with a dedication to helping you succeed. I have been playing trombone since the age of 9, and have studied and performed in a range of styles, from classical and jazz, to reggae, soul, funk, ska, pop and rock. I started playing with professional orchestras while still a teenager, and have studied with Amos Miller, Paul Nieman and Adrian France, each of whom have taught me essential practices and techniques in a variety of styles. I have performed and recorded with a number of successful groups, ensembles and projects, which include: Hotsteppas & Dub Princess, Timbali, Eastone Rockers, Lil Maxine, Fat Mark, Waggle Dance Records/The Co-operators, Wheel Up Records/Calculus, Gwari Music, Zoe Mazah, Rob Symmeonn, Urban Lions, Frankie and the Heartstrings, Euphony Collective, Toothless Mary, Sussex Jazz Orchestra, and Martha Hill. I studied for a year at the Royal College of Music aged 17, and went on to study at Newcastle University, achieving 2:1 honours in 2015. In September 2021, I graduated a Masters degree in Innovation In Sound with Distinction, from dBs Sound & Music Institute, which has led me to work as a recording and live sound engineer with Eastone Recordings, a small Bristol-based studio and production company. I have taught music theory for 7 years, helping students to reach Grade 5 and above, enabling them to progress in their musicianship, and to go on to study music at university. I believe that theory is not only an incredibly important part of learning music, but can also be a fun way to engage with the different elements of music. Practical application of theory as well as purely theoretical learning is an essential way of solidifying the knowledge, and how I believe theory should be taught. Having studied Trombone, Piano and Music Theory I have intimate knowledge of the ABRSM Grades, and can offer tuition to help students achieve the grades they need. I also offer Music Technology, Studio Techniques and Composition tuition which is informed by my work as a professional recording engineer, and through my research into experimental and extended studio practice. I have also gained writing and arranging credits for many of the groups listed above, composing for brass and whole ensembles. With this experience I can offer expert assistance and guidance with students’ compositions, as well as the equipment and set up to help with this process, both at home and at the studio I work in.
