Hello to everyone! My name is María, I am a Venezuelan Cellist. All my musical education was inside the musical program "El Sistema" in Venezuela. This education was based on preparing myself as a better human being though playing cello in orchestras, chamber music and as soloist. I am current studying my Master degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. In what consist my lessons? Cello classes for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced), it does not matter if you have never played cello before or if you are already studying, the important thing is to help you achieve the goals you want with this beautiful instrument. To have better results with practice, if it is necessary to help you with music theory, I will help you. As well, if you're looking for help in orchestral excerpts for auditions, I'm here for you! For kids, parental support is also important during some lesson, we are all a team and we need to work together to achieve the goals! Lessons in piano, historical and modern cello, and harpsichord, with program and repertoire, adapted to the goals and speed of each student, whether young, not so young, or adult, for a general introduction to these instruments, for preparation for high music education, as a supplementary aid for exams in music academies, or for a hobby, or for amateur group music-making, or for developing qualities as concentration, coordination, discipline, expressibility, awareness of styles and music history. In my teaching, I try to teach the students how to teach themselves, because the best teacher for you is yourself. Lessons can be combined (+30min.) with theory/solfege and history of music, if the student wishes. For my private students, I organize concerts 1-2 per year. Fluent in English and Russian and Bulgarian, intermediate in Nederlands und Deutsch. I have been teaching for more than 15 years, privately, in Brussels, and in New York in the past, and probably more than 100 students. I am a graduate of Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, in baroque cello and harpsichord, but I play also modern cello and piano.

Micaela had her first contact with music at age 4 through the piano and with cello at 9 years old. In 2012 begins her Bachelor’s Degree in Jed Barahal’s cello class at Superior School of Music and Performing Arts (Oporto, Portugal). Over the years had masterclasses and private lessons with several world-renowned cellists: Cédric Conchon, Martti Roussi, Oliver Parr, Carolina Landriscini, Johannes Moser (listener), Marin Cazacu, Mats Lidstörm, Daniel Geiss, Denis Severin, Justus Grimm, Stefano Veggeti, Francesco Dillon and Miriam Prandi. As an orchestra musician she has worked with soloists such: Anabela Chaves, Dmitri Bashkirov, Bernado Sasseti, Chloë Hanslip, Stéphane Chapuis, António Rosado, Stefan Hadjiev, Eric Ferrand-N'Kaoua, Miriam Prandi, Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi. In addition, she worked with the conductors like: Ernest Schelle, Raf De Keninck, Christoph König, Yoel Gamzou, Fuad Ibrahimov, Anja Bihlmaier, Sir Roger Norringthon, Gianluca Marcianò and the stage director Peter Konwitschny. Micaela also had the opportunity to work with great jazz musicians during the Guimarães Jazz Festival editions 2013/2014. She has collaborated with Sandro Norton on the project "Flying High ... At the Heart of It" where she had the pleasure of sharing the stage with 6 times Grammy winner Gary Burton. In 2016 she becomes part of the Neue Philharmonie München Youth Orchestra (Munich, Germany) where she has the opportunity to play in venues such as Herkulessal Der Residenz (Munich) and Stadthalle Kassel (Kassel). In 2019 is invited to participate in Al Bustan Festival Orchestra Academy (Beirute, Lebanon) and to be part of Suoni dal Golfo Festival playing with Orchestre Excellence based in Italy, Lerici. After a very successful collaboration, she is invited to participate in Al Bustan Festival Orchestra Academy and Orchestre Excellence in the 2020 season. She is in the reserve lists of US Chamber (Norway) and Bruocsella Symphony Orchestra (Belgium). Since 2017 she had the opportunity to study with Lluís Claret (Barcelona, Spain) and Claes Günnarson (Gothenburg, Sweden). Currently she is part of cello class at Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels where he was given the privilege of playing a cello from 1675.

I have a lot of experience in working with children and adults. During my work I try to pass my love for music in harmony with the musical preferences of my students. Hello everyone! Cello is one of the most beautiful instruments. Its sound is so close to the human voice. It sings, but it can be a virtuoso instrument as well! I graduated with honours in 2016 the cello class of professor Jeroen Reuling at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels (Concert Musicus Program). I finished master degree in the Academy of Music in Cracow (Poland) in a class of professor Zdzisław Łapiński. I also studied at the Leopold Mozart Zentrum Univesitat Augsburg within The Erasmus scholarship, in the cello class of professor Julius Berger. In addition I have been taking part in numerous masterclasses led by outstanding artists: Arto Noras, Gary Hoffman, Francois Guy, Ivan Monighetti, Frans Helmerson, J.Meissl, A.Rudin. I also obtained a teaching certificate. During my PhD studies I have been leading classes for students, helping them to master their skills. In 2018 I've been an assistant at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. As a soloist I performed under the direction of Krzysztof Penderecki and Jerzy Maksymiuk. I'm giving concerts on the stages of many countries, both as a soloist, chamber and orchestra musician. In 2017 I went for an international tournee (USA) with quintet labeled by Lincoln Center Stage. I recorded for the Academy of Music in Cracow, ORF Radio Kulturhaus in Vienna, Festival “Morningside Music Bridge”, as a member of a cello ensemble “Cello Passionato”– CD “4 for Peace”. She has taken part in the recording of Polish Cello Music – Dux Recordings. I really like to teach.
