Welcome to the French Baccalaureate Preparation course dedicated to final year students. This course, sometimes intensive, will prepare you completely and thoroughly for the French baccalaureate exam thanks to Manon, a passionate literature teacher and holder of a degree in modern literature. We will cover literary history, the methodology of text commentary and dissertations, grammar, practical exercises, mock orals and written mock exams.

Literary history:
To better understand the texts and works you will study in the exam, we will explore the literary history of different periods and movements. From the medieval era to contemporary literature, we will analyze the literary movements, the great authors and the key works that have shaped French literary heritage.

Methodology of text commentary and dissertation:
Mastery of the methodology of text commentary and dissertation is essential to pass the French baccalaureate test. During this program, we will teach you specific techniques for analyzing a literary text, identifying its issues, its stylistic processes and structuring a clear and argued text commentary. We will also discuss the methodology of the dissertation, guiding you step by step in the construction of a relevant problem, a detailed plan and a solid argument.

My name is Beryl and I am a primary school teacher, retraining to become a speech therapist. During my studies, I miss teaching: I would be delighted to help you improve your spelling, or more broadly your French (reading aloud, grammar, conjugation...)!

My courses are suitable for all ages, all school levels, and all levels of mastery (from primary school to higher education, or even for adults already in the workforce - or not - wishing to progress).

I have excellent spelling, which was reinforced during my teaching master's degree, during classroom teaching (teaching helps to master it even better), and during my entry into speech therapy school.

I offer lexical spelling (how words are spelled) and grammatical spelling (agreements), but also reading aloud, grammar, conjugation... according to your needs.

I adapt to your request: "surface" or "push," more training or explanations...
We can start from a French exercise you have to do, from one of your texts written independently or from one of your texts to read, from a dictation, from a type of agreement or from a list of words that is causing you problems... or from nothing, and I will offer you a short "diagnostic" dictation or reading.

I don't really have a fixed session structure because I adapt to each student. However, I always start with your request, so you'll begin the lesson. Throughout the lesson, I'll build on what you bring to the table and what you find challenging (or not).

I have many tools in my teacher's bag (illustrated spelling, physical paths, mnemonic devices, word corpus, dictations, ease in creating tailor-made systematic dictations/exercises, ability to use AI to best adapt exercises, textbooks of various levels... and above all my ability to adapt to your request!).
I don't hesitate to think outside the box, to move away from "classic" methods, in order to bring what seems relevant to me... and I dare to change and propose something else if I find that it doesn't work!

As a primary school teacher, I know how to adapt to younger children and am familiar with the different stages of teaching and learning spelling. Through various other experiences, I also know how to provide adults with what they need, by putting myself at their level without the concepts being taught seeming childish.
The feedback from families at the school has always been very positive. I haven't had the opportunity to give private lessons yet, but I'm looking forward to it: I really enjoyed the APC (complementary educational activities) sessions where I could help 3 students gain confidence in themselves and their abilities, and progress from where they were.
