Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...). Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. Do you want to know the register of your voice? Can you sing the higher notes without hurting your voice? Learn how to do pass marks? Getting to have a powerful but also agile voice? I am a songwriter, pop and jazz singer and voice teacher with 20 years of experience in music. I offer singing lessons at all levels. My classes focus on the development of bodily, muscular and vocal awareness which helps to perceive and consider our body as a musical instrument. My teaching method is the result of the synthesis of my experience as a singer and the many and diverse courses of study followed. The lesson is structured in two parts: the first half devoted to vocal technique, the second half to the musical repertoire and the learning of musical language (jazz or pop or other genre). The vocal technique that I propose is a basic technique for all types of modern singing: from postural education to the care of breathing, from the use of the abdominal muscles, to the emission of air up to the cavities of resonance. We will work on the sound, on the extension of the voice, on the high and low notes, on the passage of register, on the control, on the power and the agility. From a repertoire point of view, the course will be modeled on the needs or interests of the student, with an eye to the right attitude to hold while you sing and you are on a stage. I can prepare the student for the entrance exam to the conservatory and any form of audition. If the student wishes, I can give him notions of harmony and reading music.

I am Thijs (28), an experienced drummer and musician, with a wide range of musical interests. Studying jazz drums under the wings of Lander Gyselinck at the KASK/Conservatorium in Ghent. I also took master classes and lessons from/with Joey Baron (US), Kendrick Scott (US), Corey Fonville (US) and Stéphane Galland (BE). I am also active in various bands/groups. My lessons, depending on the level, focus on both the fundamental building blocks of drumming and music as a whole. These building blocks together with the student's interests form the curriculum, so that it meets the student's wishes as best as possible. I also teach music theory/music theory. Some aspects of this are also offered during drum lessons. In the end, it's you who will enjoy it the most, so that's what I'm focusing on! Private guitar lessons of half an hour or an hour that take place at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven, the rehearsal rooms of the conservatory. During the lesson we generally divide the lesson between half technique (learning chords/scales/etudes) and the other half learning songs. A pioneering and innovative method of singing practice created in Denmark by Cathrine Sadolin twenty years ago, adopted by thousands of amateur and professional singers around the world. First, you have the possibility of increasing your comfort by applying the 3 basic principles for a healthy voice: Support, Twang and opening of the mouth. Then, it is a question of choosing the character of sound that you want to produce, by modifying the adjustment (the shape) which you give to your vocal tract (zone of the larynx, the mouth and the lips), one speaks then the mode in which you sing. -There is the Neutral mode which refers to soft sounds. -The Curbing mode whose sounds are a little louder and restrained. -Overdrive mode for loud and powerful sounds. -And finally the Edge mode for loud and sharp sounds. Anyone can use the 4 modes and switch between them. When you are in control and know the limitations, advantages and disadvantages of each of these modes, you will in fact be able to sing exactly what you want. you have access to several tools to acquire these new skills and this in-depth understanding of your voice. Before committing yourself, I would like you to think about your motivation, whether you are a beginner, an amateur or a professional, I work exclusively with people who are involved in their learning process.

Student at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and graduated from the Conservatory of Chambery (France) Jazz section, I give music lessons / solfège / guitar since the age of 18 years.
