Trusted teacher: I offer online or face-to-face English lessons to non-native speakers. I work with the student to identify learning objectives and any areas of weakness and tailor the lesson accordingly. Areas covered during the lesson include, speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar accent reduction. I currently live in Den Haag, The Netherlands. In addition to private coaching, I also work for an online ESL company delivering English lessons to children across a range of age groups. In addition, I also work as an ESL proofreader and IELTS private tutor here in The Hague. I hold a BA (Hons) degree and have a CELTA qualification. Prior to a career in ESL English teaching, I worked in the UK national press for the Times and Financial Times newspapers. It was there I developed my proofreading and communications skills. In my spare time, I write articles for magazines and have had feature stories published in The Telegraph magazine, The Daily Mail and a number of health magazines. I have also written two language books. The first, 'I Already Speak Speak French!' is an illustrated book for children that covers the etymology of many English words to their French origin (attached is a sample of it for your interest!). It has been translated for the French market into, 'I Already Speak English!' The second book is called, 'Learn Business English FAST!' which draws on a teaching methodology used for effective, fast learning that I used whilst teaching English for the international company, GoFluent.

Trusted teacher: De echte Portugese ervaring! Advantages of learning a new language: Learning a new language is fun. But what I’m (and you should be) after is not bilingualism but instead biculturalism. We think by aid of words. Therefore language shapes thought. In part this is because working in a second language slows down the thinking. No wonder people feel different when speaking a second language. And no wonder they feel looser, more spontaneous, perhaps more assertive or funnier or blunter. Studies show that being able to speak another language is generally linked to a more flexible brain, developing the brain’s ability to plan and prioritize. Also it betters our defenses against dementia in old age. Advantages of learning Portuguese: • 250 million native speakers worldwide • 5th most common language in the world • It has been an official language since 1297 • It’s usage is spread over 4 continents (Europe, South America, Africa, Asia) Now business, For the past 2 years I've had more than 10 students and based on experience I recommend the following lesson duration (minutes): Age gap 0-6 | 7-12 | 13-17 | 18-45 | 45-64 | 65+ Duration 60 | 60-90 | 90-120 | 120 | 90-120 | 60-90 Longer classes are possible and the student has always the final decision. Yet I recognise that after the aforementioned durations, students get tired or out of focus and the productivity decreases. Focus on diverse subjects is possible, for example, grammar, diction, reading comprehension, written production, conversational skills. Because the goal of most students is the ability to communicate, I’ve been developing my classes that way. I have acquired extra audio media specially for you :) to hear Portuguese being spoken at a different pace, accent and voice tone. My method is based on a book (that I myself bring to the class and the student doesn’t need to acquire) which I'm fairly familiar by now. But what I really like is to talk to the student. So the book will be used to present the gramatical structure of the language while also serving as an inspiration platform for conversation topics. Periodically we will evaluate how the classes are evolving so as to rapidly and effectively shift focus to where it is needed.

Trusted teacher: I have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and currently I work as a post-doc researcher in aerospace Engineering faculty of TU Delft. I have ample experience in teaching all the courses related to Engineering such as mathematics (algebra, probability, calculus, differential equations, and advanced engineering mathematics), Mechanical engineering courses (Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of materials, Mechanical design, control, vibration, Fluid mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat transfer, Engineering drawing, etc), Physics (mechanics, electricity, light, waves, etc), CAD/CAM software (Autocad, Solidworks), and Mechanical design packages (ANSYS, ABAQUS, MATLAB, LS-DYNA). Not all the teachers are good at teaching Engineering and Mathematics courses and informing the students about the importance of what they are learning. That is why mathematical based engineering courses (such as Statics or Strength of Materials) are mostly boring for the students. The other problem that many students have with courses with strong mathematical background is that their mathematical basis is weak and therefore they cannot follow the course. I usually try to start my course from the basics and therefore actively engage as many students as possible in the class (even the weak ones). I also usually try to inform the students about the importance of what they are learning in the class by giving them some examples. This makes them more inspired and interested into what they are learning. If you have extra questions before starting a class, don't hesitate to ask me :)

Trusted teacher: Hello! :) I'm a professional teacher/violinist with a “Master in education” from the Royal Conservatory. I teach either live or online from my studio located in the city center. I can also come at your place if you wish (I can reach different cities as I drive). Music making is guaranteed even through distance learning: you'll be provided with accompaniments and recorded music to support your learning process, giving so the opportunity of experiencing music making at its finest as you'll play often in a duo (violin and piano). You'll spare some money too as I will provide all the needed books and repertoire. You can play from your screen or even print at home the necessary sheets for the lesson rather than buying unnecessary extras. I graduated cum laude in my country and specialized in violin education here in Den Haag. I attended masterclasses and workshops with many celebrated musicians. As an orchestral violin player, I toured all over the world from Europe to China, and played with conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Wayne Marshall, John Axelrod, Pascal Rophè and many others. As a teacher, I have been teaching full-time from 2015 and got very good experience ever since. I have familiarity with all the most common syllabi such as Trinity, ABRSM or Suzuki. I like using technology but also new repertoire with different styles in my classes, I generally follow and develop my own pupil's musical interests. If you are a total beginner without any experience or an advanced musician, this class is suited for you! :)

João
I have been taking private lessons from Joao for more than 6 months and I am completely thrilled with it! Although I am a beginner in piano, I can see that Joao is very knowledgeable in his field. What I like most is that he utilizes technology very effectively to help me understand tricky theoretical concepts. He also prepares tailored exercises for me, which makes me feel very valued. He really puts his time in preparing homeworks and supplementary documents even before and after the class to be sure that I understand what he is teaching. Joao is also quite responsive. He is very flexible in terms of the course content and willing to adapt to my changing needs over time. Still, as a teacher, he keeps in mind what foundations I need to build and he does not lose track of what I want as an ultimate goal, so he comes with a structured curriculum that I realize over time. I can only recommend Joao if you are looking for a dedicated piano teacher who loves what he does.

Mandarin Chinese Language & Culture course - Learn Chinese in a systematic and fun way! (Rotterdam)
Shan
I was thinking, that learning Chinese is extremely difficult, however, thanks to Shan,  this language becomes more and more clear for me. Every lesson is very productive and I feel, that I progress fast! Today, there are numerous teachers, who can teach you Chinese. However, only a few of them can make the educational process so interesting and enjoyable. Luckily for me, Shan is one of them and I am very happy, that I found her. Shan is very precise and corrects every my mistake. She can easily explain how to properly pronounce words with different tones, how to write syllables, the grammar and many more. I like, that with her, I am not just memorising Chinese language, but I do really understand it. Overall, without a doubt, I can say, that Shan is a great teacher! 心💕

Violin and music theory lessons for people of all ages and levels in Den Haag (The Hague)
Yulia
I like Yulia, my 8 yrs old daughter likes Yulia and here is why: she's the best violin tutor my daughter has had! My daughter is very active and we have had two tutors before and she got on well with the previous tutors on a "fun" level, yet she hardly made time to play violin and each tutoring session became a play date and practicing on violin was a struggle. With Yulia, my daughter actually plays violin now and she's starting to enjoy classical music as well. I find Yulia naturally engaging and for my daughter learning music with Yulia becomes an automatic flow, so she hardly notices that she's had a "long" violin lesson. Now we look forward to seeing Yulia every week!
