I am a french student in The Hague. After my law degree I decided to start again my studies in design at the art academy of The Hague (KABK). Besides that I am now sewing my own clothes for 6 years and selling sewing patterns for beginners. If you want to get introduce to sewing, if you have a sewing machine and you want to learn how to use it, we can start working on some sewing projects together ! Using a pattern or not, drawing your own easy pattern yourself or recycle your clothes it is up to you !I am offering classes from begginer to intermediate ! From sewing tot bag, srunchies, a new skirt, kimono, laptopcover, a cushion etc to vegetal die, crochet, weaving and diy projects all realted to fabrics and yarn, there is all you could love if like me you are a diy addict and a textile lover ! I am very in the responsible and zero waste concept of sewing and there are plenty projects we can lead in order for you to learn the basics of sewing ! So you can get independant after our classes.

Trusted teacher: Teaching students aged 15+ fundamental basics to free hand pattern drafting in the fashion industry. Pattern-cutting is the essential skill of all designers in bringing a design to life from a 2D perspective to a 3D wearable garment. Block patterns are used for standardised sizing, but for a full understanding of how patterns work, I will be teaching the basics in drafting and developing a basic skirt pattern, which can then be used for your own designs. My lessons would be a vast advantage to students finishing their GCSE's or A-level's Textile who wish to continue further on to Fashion at foundation/university, as it will provide you with a insightful head start on a crucial aspect of all Fashion courses. However, these skills are accessible to everyone from all professional backgrounds, so if you'd like to learn about the creation of garments from scratch, these lessons will be as easily enjoyable. Lessons will be easy-going, very much working at your own pace. If there is something you'd like to make, I can provide tailored lessons to work towards your goal.

As a self-taught costume designer and seamstress with 10 years of experience I believe the best approach to learning is by doing. Together, we will come up with a design, talk about the different aspects of creating a costume for different purposes, break down the different parts of the design and work on it together - from pattern creation or augmentation to the final costume. I can teach either on your own sewing machine or mine.
