This work will be followed up with targeted areas for further practice, consolidation and/or additional challenge. During my writing sessions, I will guide students in developing their practical writing skills, i.e. grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and organisation of points/plot. Whilst encouraging creativity throughout, I will ensure there are multiple opportunities for students to express themselves through various writing genres. We will also work on editing and reviewing with feedback sessions built in to help consolidate the techniques introduced. I strongly believe that reading is the key to unlocking a whole world of knowledge and imagination. In my reading sessions, I will focus on developing essential skills such as phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocab. Through a variety of activities, including reading aloud, guided reading, discussion and analysis, I will help students improve their reading abilities, expand their literary horizons, and hopefully, foster a lifelong love for books. My training as an English teacher combines theory and practice: it was first done intensively during my high school studies, then through frequent stays abroad. I lived and taught French for 4 years in Los Angeles and New Jersey. The operation of the support course is determined before the start of the lessons, in agreement with the parents, according to the needs of the student and the desired objectives. This can consist of in-depth help with homework, monitoring of already structured courses (e.g.: exam preparation, CNED program) or tailor-made courses, according to your objectives. The duration of the sessions can be one to two hours depending on the concentration and the dispositions of the student (the duration of the session is fixed at the beginning of the partnership between the parents of the student and myself) to ensure effective work and monitoring.
